A lot of people are going to be very disappointed when they realize Gally isn't close to what it used to be. Which is why they're willing to hand it out to literally everyone. Let's not forget this is a weapon from Vanilla. People are "excited" for Gally that most Y1 players have had for going on 2 years. The "incentive" is something I already have. Has anyone even seen a single new exotic? (Kvostov is not new either)...... Not to mention the infamous "missing exotics" we were advertised and paid for already, but never got.... I for one am not buying ROI. And do people understand this is THE LAST content "expansion" for the entire year, for "Destiny 1"? You'll only be getting small seasona, after-thought, small team bs after this. I can't wait to read this forum in 6 months... It's going to be funny. Good luck guys. Count me out this time.

  • Actually they aren't "handing out" anything. Pre-ordering the RoI means that once you get the quest, complete the quest, and earn your gjallarhorn, it will be with the iron skin. Everyone, regardless of pre-ordering or not, will have to get the quest and complete it to get the gjallarhorn. The difference is one will get a black and silver gjallarhorn and the other will get a white and gold one. It's not that hard to understand how this works. Bungie, streamers, you tubers, and people everywhere on the forums have already said many times that no one is getting the gjallarhorn for free and everyone will have to complete a quest to get it.

That, is a valid point. Fair enough. I'll rephrase. Everyone will have immediate (or at least homogeneous) access to it, so everyone will have it. My point kind of stands minus the small distinction, which I grant you because it's valid.

  • The main reason for doing this is because of the exclusion that the weapon caused in Y1. People weren't allowed in raids and PoE because they didn't have this rocket launcher. Although that could have been solved very simply. Either have let Xur seek the damn thing or make boss more varied. The only reason gjallarhorn was the best was because of boss design. Imagine if there had been more bosses like oryx that had specific hit boxes. Gjallarhorn would've been useless. But instead they took the easy way out again. They nerfed it, left it at Y1, and kept on designing the same crappy and reskinned bosses. And now they are using it as a marketing tool and making it available as a quest reward which is somewhat controversial. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
