Well...going from Praedyth's dialogue in the alternate ending of Paradox...
The Stranger is the 1 and only constant in every single timeline there is.
She is 100% involved with the Vex and seems to freely travel time.
Right now she and whomever is teamed with her are probably fighting multiple battles in who knows how many timelines.
She seems to want to help us survive though. She seems to have intel and knowledge nessicary for us to defeat the Vex atleast.
Praedyth & the Vex seem to be both frightened of her as yet resent her.
I want to see her return desperately.
I want her to have her own stand alone videogame.
Honestly...the idea of playing a solo game starring her is intoxicating.
She her storyline/events/team are 100% more interesting than the characters we currently deal with.

Here's a theory. Maybe the Stranger is Efrideet after the siva plague, lemme explain. The siva plague was defeated but it took the lives of many iron lords. Saladin and Efrideet survived but she went missing. So maybe she tried to find a way to bring them back. She went to the vex (or the VoG) and started to travel through time to try and prevent their deaths. She constantly fails and constantly time jumps to find success, slowly becoming a vex, kinda like Eris kinda becoming a hive. We encounter her in one of her jumps on Venus and she leaves saying something about cutting the engines (don't remember the quote), maybe the person she was talking to was one of the iron lords in the middle of the siva battle

Interesting theory but we know the stranger is not a guardian as she wasn't "forged in light"
