And again, there is only so much that can be done with lab procedure. There simply aren't enough resources to put any patch they push under enough strain to properly simulate going live. Often times these bugs won't appear until that happens, so how would you recommend doing it?

  • I think you miss the point. EVERY single update/patch they pushed over 2 years has broken something. That is 100% issues with updates. Have you ever coded something that is for public use and tested it before pushing it live? I have and there is plenty of testing that can be done, even in a "lab" environment. They can have an isolated instance of the game with the update on servers that only some players/testers can use and have people test all changes made in real-life environment. It really is not that hard to do. They just need to invest in it and we are paying customers on every DLC and expansion they make. That money should be better invested to prevent these things from happening every time they do an update. Every few updates having an issue is one thing. Every single update causing issues is something different and should not happen. For instance, how long has the issue existed with Legendary Marks not being rewarded on certain heroic stories been around...since last October. They just got around to "fix" it. That is 9 months. Seriously...they are wanting to push the new expansions without really dedicating time to test the code. This is not the way to keep long time players/customers.

  • When working on something that is essentially a prototype, things are going to happen. Not only have they been working on a radically different network and- oh look, the Beaver patch just went live.

  • Again, you seem to miss the point. They have issues in breaking something else every time. That is a 100% failure rate. You do not do that to paying customers. You thoroughly test things. Like I already said, some issues on updates is one thing. Issues on every update is something different and should not happen. I'm speaking from experience as a coder. If I pushed code live without testing it and caused issues with customers' online ability they paid for and did so repeatedly, my company would have fired me. No excuse for it, yet you keep making excuses for them.

  • No, I get it. Bungie doesn't have a great track record involving patches, though 100% failure is not accurate. This is not the first game to have gamebreaker bugs, and Bungie has been good about hitting them when they come up. Remember the Skyrim glitch on PS3? Didn't get fixed at least half a year. Stuff breaks, it happens. Here's how I look at it: You can either keep playing, or don't and stop investing in it. No one is forcing you to play or spend money on it. Or, if you think you can do a better job, go apply to work there. They have some pretty good career options over there and you seem to think you can pull it off. Overall, I've been relatively happy about Destiny so far, even with its problems. In short, I don't really care. This post and following remarks was pretty much just to pass some time and for the sake of curiousity. It is far too easy to rile people on internet these days.
