Why does the rng even bother dropping this? There is barely a damage/armor difference.
All it achieves is just annoying the player because you can't round up the light level figure.
I can 335 on two character so it's not a big issue but it's just annoying
-
Are you saying like around 330 light level it doesn't really make difference?
-
As soon as I got 335, I haven't stuck to it,I mainly rock between 330-334
-
Parts.
-
People like progression, even if it is marginal and meaningless. Overwatch stows your level. Does it tell people anything useful? Hell no. But it is there to show progression. One of the major complaints of the Division is that you can grind out a week of game play, and may have lost progression with nothing of value to show for it.
-
Its the old carrot stick routine. How else is bungie going to get you to play. Is it the stimulating interactions of guardians in a lag free environment? Is it the wonderful ttk raid full of comraderie and teamwork? Or is it the endless content that takes you on a mystical journey of awe and amazement? Nope its the GRIND GRIND GRIND! Then when your weapon is glowing red hot and your sword is a nub of useless steel they raise the light level again and replace your favorite gear with new stuff to GRIND GRIND GRIND!

-
a grand whopping 3 light levels.
-
So bungie can laugh at posts like this
-
It inflates play/grind time, same reason the higher you get the less gear sources drop at your level. Like engram decodes will not drop above 295 for me, only faction packages and IB drop above that (in my experience)
-
Nothing. There is no point to anything
-
Because my ocd won't let me be anything other than 335
-
It is a pretty big difference with Fusion Rifles. A 4 bolt with a faster charge is insane.
-
So you can keep grinding!
-
Well, I have a fettish for armor materials and glimmer and if it is between 331 to 334 it will also give me legendary marks, so there is that. However, if you are not like me and you know how to make the most of your time in this game and you do not need materials or glimmer, then 331 to 334 is pretty useless if you are already 335. Well, mostly (or partially) useless but it depends on who you ask.
-
Scrub. Called git gud. 335 or bust!
-
Being 335 is a pointless pipe dream to be chasing. As long as you're above 330 you'll be fine in any activity. Personally I'd prefer to be 333 with an awesome armour set with ideal perks and stat distribution then be a scrappy looking 335 with tier 9 armour.
-
Whats the point of 330 and lower?
-
I miss Year 1 light levels. You could see the player's light level without inspecting them and a single light level made a world of a difference.
-
For the people that are lower than 335...?
-
Why bother with any progression system?
-
Well you're highly unlikely to jump straight from 330 to 335 via RNG. It's called level progression.
-
So no one gets salty in PvP events while giving players the placebo effect of getting stronger through pointless grinding
-
What's the point of 222 light gear? 323 light gear? 111 light gear? 311 light gear? 234 light gear?
They're numbers. One light level down or up makes a difference. As small as it can be.
How else are we going to face the those evil cat gods?
-
RNG is trolling everyone.
