Stats show defender kd is lower.
But the tradeoff is what you do for your team and objectives.
You can't have both a powerful killer and defensive class in one.

Then make the bubble invincible to fulfill the defense role, but as it stands, defender does not defend well enough to be warranted a defense based class

Because you're an idiot and just stand in it. Put down blessing, use alpha lupi and give your teammates orbs and over shields, and profit.

That strategy obviously is one that fill the role the name suggests. Thats not a defender, but a supporter.

There are no objective based modes in this game. Control isn't if you lose all 3 points you lose its based primarily on kills and you can even make up for losses with kills on rift if your team is good enough.

They already do. Defender is majorly offensive if use as a bait and switch class. Suppression grenades being a key part to this as you can lire supers out and end them quick. Every 25 or so seconds. It's an amazing class, just nobody uses it enough to really give it a try
