Hammers on Oryx? Nah, you couldn't possibly.

Who would use hammers on Oryx? That guy must be an idiot. Well...that guy is me. I've been helping guardians with the raid for quite some time now, and every time I do... I ask that every Titan use Hammers instead of running blessings of light. I've gotten all sorts or responses. Mostly people telling me that I'm an idiot or just laughing it off/ignoring me.
Some are intrigued, and those that are...well they learn a super awesome way to utilize their Titan during the oryx encounter. I made a video that people from my stream have been asking me to make for a long time now. After 100+ raid completions using this exact method, I figured I would :) enjoy.
Here is the method in plain text. It's not groundbreaking. It's simple and easy.
1. 4 people assigned to a platform. Can't handle a platform? Watch the video. It shows exactly how. Hop on, kill ogres, look for knight immediately after, shoot any acolytes/eyes, hop off when relic run says he has it.)
2. 1 relic runner.
3. 1 dedicated support up top.
4. EVERYONE running sniper rifles. Everyone using sniper rifles on OGRES.
5. Begin encounter and start platform sequence. (Platform 4 always up top to help with the other person on support).
6. Kill Ogres and then look for your knight your knight only. Shoot any acolytes or eyes that you see.
7. Relic runner calls out that he has it, everyone get off, make sure your knight is dead and run to the relic runner.
8. DPS Oryx.
9. Move to the front together, inside the aura, and kills ADS. Recharge your super.
10. Back out of center once oryx goes back to the middle. Kill remaining ADS and taken Knights.
11. Kill the shade.
12. Rinse and repeat.
Sounds like a lot of steps, but it is broken down. There really isn't anything to it. It's not hard to stay alive. People that continually die -- I always hear the same thing. "Damn acolyte eye got me". Well, did you kill any acolytes after you killed your knight? Probably not. You see me doing everything you need to do in the video.
If you like it, give it a try. If you don't want to, oh well who cares. My feelings aren't hurt.
Honestly hope this helps someone. It's the only reason I made it.

Don't know what all the discussion is about. There is more that one way to do things. In the video we clearly did not use a bubble and clearly had no issue with Oryx. I use this with new people all the time as I don't have a full team. You don't need a bubble. If this doesn't work for you, oh well. Do your own method lol. Really don't see what the issue is. The point of the video is to show another way.

1 ReplyNot to belittle your strat, but doing it challenge mode way (4 bombs each corner at once) has always seemed to be the easiest way to kill Oryx. Don't need anything specific to win, and it's all rinse and repeat and very easy for someone to assist in someone else's job if things get chaotic. Don't need spindle, malice, anything other than a pulse rifle/mida for the stagger. It makes things like LFG Community obsolete with their very odd requirements and is also optimal for doing carries as you only need people to know how to handle middle,and have a relic runner. The other slots are easy mode (platform jumping) and even knights are not a high priority as long as the middle has a heavy and knows to look for them. Anyways, like I said, this wasn't to counter your strat OP, just to add to it!

If you use the following On oryx your getting kicked immediately. Black spindle. Thats it, theres absolutely no need to be using that sniper rifle on oryx, Its the last step in the raid theres no bullet sponge boss so put it away. And to all you kinder guardians and crybabies . I love the spindle, its just not suitable for the last step in kings fall

4 RepliesIf I have a even 1 Titan I still do middle bubble strat with the warlock in the center. Just makes more sense, plate guns help with ogres anyways and then snipe their knight. By the time the fourth ogre is coming out of the ground the two guys are twiddling their thumbs. One of the middle guys are designated 4th knight killer. Doesn't make any sense to do it any other way. Glad you have been able to successfully do it without a bubble but why even try.

I've not played in a couple of months so lemme know if it changed. It seems your team is just a good all round team, each player can pull their own weight. Now in my permanent team that I did with friends I talk to outside the game, so basically I can't just kick them to be efficient. My team setup would look a little like; 1) Very high & Incredibly fast runner 2) Average DPS but certainly the fastest runner I've ever played with. 3) MONSTER DPS, average runner 4) Average DPS, average runner 5) Weak DPS, very weak runner Our sixth player rotated between a few friends in differing time zones but most commonly 6) High dps, average runner So with my setup where not everyone pulls their own weight, I had to create a strategy plan that would average out our strength to all areas of the map. Player 1 would be on platform 1, 2 is the runner, 3 is permanently in the middle, 4 is permanently in the middle, 5 is platform 3, and 6 is platform 2. (Sorry if I'm losing you now) The idea is our highest DPS was in the middle at all times to kill ogres while player 4 had only titan characters so he was our bubble guy. The second highest DPS was on platform one so he could leave as soon at relic was grabbed and attack the fourth ogre which should have the two middle guys just about moving to it also. We gave the 4th knight to one of our center guys as occasionally Oryx would open up and 6 people would be looking for the fourth knight, so having one assigned to it meant 5 could DPS oryx without worrying about it. While playing with this team, this became virtually the only formation we could complete the raid. Sure a couple were a little butthurt when I suggested they weren't the strongest players but the fact that my strategy worked only proved it to them. LONG STORY SHORT my team consists of people who need assistance even when we have a bubble, so losing the bubble to us would make it an extremely hard encounter for at least 3 of my team. Long boring post I know but this is why hammers wouldn't work for me :)

Meh. I'm gonna keep using double bubble strat. Once runner has the relic everyone can run to the bubbles. They don't have to unnecessarily kill everything until they're in the aura

I will continue to use the double bubble strat..... makes things cleaner with less chance of woopsies... glad you found another way you like... but I prefer the safest most efficient way.. but as someone else said.. you can do the raid with any mix of characters/subclasses.... there is just a preferred efficient way of doing it already. with both the titans up top with touch and weapons+blessing going... the titans can clear out all the ogres, 4th knight, front and back spawn by themselves before oryx slams while providing an extra safe zone other then the aura in the meantime.... its unarguably the safest way to do it. if you run with a regular group there really shouldn't be any excuse not to do it that way other then the sake of being different

1 ReplyMultiple ways to do oryx efficient. You do not need a bubble Titan or 2 for that matter to beat Oryx. For some reason that is the majority. The Main thing you need is competent Teammates.

1 ReplyI fully fuming support this shit because on my old titan, (before i made a female) I ran sun breaker 24/7 in Kings fall and still got it done. If you know how to handle yourself right and actually stay alive even at the most critical points in the raid you can run any subclass and do good. But no theres always that team that wants blessing or gtfo. Any subclass can do Kings fall and complete it. you don't need sun singers and defenders with nightstalkers.

3 RepliesGreat vid, guy. Yeah I totally agree a bubble isn't absolutely necessary, it's just a more efficient way to get it done for some. From what I see on this video you're pretty much doing it like anyone would have done on normal mode the first time they did it (well first time I ever did it). Back then the guy who taught us the deal said everyone should make sure they take care of their ogres with sniper rifles (no one had the touch back then too) so yeah, it's just going back to roots :D. Personally I won't opt for this since it's probably going to waste time (people getting used to it) when I'm trying to crack runs down quickly but yeah maybe on those days where no one wants to play a titan :D. Oh and there's nothing wrong with killing someone's knight for them. I do it all the time it's just better if you don't put pressure on the people in your group who have trouble with such things by letting them know you've got their back. All I do is call out if everyone's knights are dead and if one is loose the owner calls the number and I hunt it down. For me it's better if they get to cover than try to be a hero, chasing after their knight and die in the process.
