Why can't people just walk away?
I saw what Bungie was doing and where this game was headed and it became obvious it was time to stop playing Destiny so I did.
Once Bungie decides to show its fans the respect they deserve for buying their paid Beta test and sticking with them despite the fact that they sold us half a game, then I might decide to return.

Personally, I think a lot more would walk away but the reason they don't is because of the money they paid. It could be likened to taking $150 dollars out of your wallet and setting it down on a park bench. How many would do that? They paid expecting something and "hope" that something will change. Just as you are here posting, and even saying that you "might" return means that you also liked the game and expected more than what you got for your funds. While I am not condemning you, nor trying to put you down, I am just trying to answer your posting, while pointing out that it appears that you too have some type of "hope" that something will change to make things better. So while I commend you for stopping playing the game, your posting shows that even you are having some type of difficulty in accomplishing to completely "walk away." Now, add to that, the programming techniques that they have incorporated to try to get people addicted, is also a factor.

Your point about money is valid up to a point. Yes, I paid $140 for this game. Now $100 of that is on me and the other $40, is on my son who had fun during the summer with his buddies doing VoG and Crota day after day during their summer vacation and convinced me to buy TTK. I had soured on this game and stopped playing over the summer for two months of DA:Inquisition. Bungie promised a lot for TTK and the asking price of $40 seemed to indicate it would be a worthwhile purchase. Unfortunately after two weeks, the content was gone and it became obvious that TTK wasn't worth $40 and the grind was worse than in Year One. Yes, the mechanics are superior and the concept of space magic had me hooked, but I began to realize that no matter how many great suggestions were floated out there by this community Bungie was determined to do what they wanted to do and that we would never get the game we were promised way back at E3. So while I've got $140 in cash and many, many hours invested in this game I had to cut my loses and accept the fact that it was time to find something new. Now yes I come here looking signs of life, but I also come here hoping to convince those who are still addicted that there are solid alternatives to Destiny and that there are actually companies out there that care about what their fans want.

LOL! Thanks for your input. And agree with your closing statement - wholeheartedly. Yeah, there is life here; in fact I sometimes think that there is more here than in the game itself. You might enjoy a post I did a while back: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/133919266/0/0
