Nice post.
Although I've got to admit, on all my runs on Bannerfall (3 lighthouse trips + another 7 cards maybe?) I was running into some extremely good snipers...
Every single game almost actually, I was getting sniped from unbelievable angles. I couldn't believe it.
Not saying that has anything to do w. Hidden Hand, AA, 1000 Yard Stare, whatever. Just stating that I ran into so many good snipers on Bannerfall last week. It was actually a unbelievable to me at first. lol.
I'm just not a pro sniper. I'm not, & I'm the first to admit it. I've tried the Benevolence + Hidden Hand / Shortgaze. I've tried the Longbow / LDR. I've tried Yasmin & 1k yard stare...it never mattered.
There was no perks, no scopes, no stats, that could make my sniping game top notch...only one thing can do that, practice. Ignorant people can't grasp that...
It's a shame, really.

The pro Trials crowd were itching to get back in there, so I guess you got unlucky, haha.

Yes I felt an increase in well played snipes from opposing teams and suspected this was the Trials 2.0 matchmaking doing its job! Exactly, practice is how you improve, Usain Bolt was not born to run sub-10 second 100m sprints and Lewis Hamilton was not born with the ability to pass and beat anyone on a race track. My friend recently told me that once he met me and was impressed by my sniping, he practiced appearing offline in patrol over and over until he improved, and now he's pretty damn good at it. The whole world cannot be so open minded, or there wouldn't be anything to entertain me at night! Lol

Edited by Youre Lightwork: 11/7/2015 10:14:05 PMFor sure. I really love this new matchmaking system. I don't play Trials solely to go to Lighthouse & then stop. I play Trials because that's where I've found there to be the most consistent better players. I've always found more of a challenge when playing. It's cool because imo it's considerably more challenging to get to the Lighthouse now in Y2. It's awesome though! I prefer to use Fusion Rifles in my special slot though. They're exceptional weapons if you practice a little Bit w. Them. They're a perfect counter to shotguns too. You just have to predict your targets movements, & keep that perfect distance between each other & you'll be getting nasty kills constantly. It took me a little while to get used to them, but now they're easily my favorite secondary. they're satisfying to kill with. I don't feel as if I'm winning close range engagements because I'm using the most OP shotgun. It actually does take skill to be able fusion rifle efficiently. It wasn't easy to get the hang of either, took me awhile. Don't get me wrong, I am not the person that thinks shotguns don't take skill to use though. I actually find it somewhat tough to be a good shotgunner. It's all about closing in the gaps on your enemy properly..but sniping is a whole different ball game for me. I'm just not a good sniper. I've tried, I've practiced. But it's not my thing. I just don't enjoy as much because it doesn't suit my play style. I do love watching those really aggressive snipers, they're genuinely amazing to watch. Like Kraftyy. But, that kind of skill takes some serious practice. I'll leave the snipes to the pros, I'll stick with my Fusion rifles ;p Sorry for the long post btw. I thoroughly enjoying having conversations about the crucible when I'm not arguing with an ignorant player.. Ones that claim lag switches every game...lol
