Want to know something that makes these stats irrelevant? It is impossible for all three classes to have above a 1.0 K/D... meaning that data does not accurately represent the population.
Think about it. If I kill you, my K/D goes up based on one kill and yours goes down based on one death. So for every kill there is also a death. The part that makes it so that the average of all classes must be below 1.0 is suicides.
It even says at the top of the page that this data only represents their selected group of players. Because of this, it doesn't even represent class by popularity at all. Also, look at weapon kills. Handcannon kills are still #1. Which shouldn't be the case if these statistics were weekly instead of representing all time stats. Hunters were dominant in year 1, so of course Titans haven't caught up in K/D yet.

Wow. Just wow. That's one of the worst arguments I've seen on this forum. I will not mention anything about nerfing/not nerfing sunbreakers, but that is not how the stats work.

Edited by Sixclicks: 10/19/2015 7:57:42 PMThe average of all three classes (not subclasses) must be at or below 1.0. This is simple math. For every kill there is a death. The part that makes it below a 1.0 is suicides. For example, make it two classes instead and eliminate suicides just for this example. If one class has a 2.0 then the other class must have a 0.5.
-
That's where you're wrong, because you're forgetting that people are still using all 6 of the old subclasses.
-
Edited by Sixclicks: 10/19/2015 8:00:07 PMDo you even read? I didn't say subclasses. I said classes. As in Hunter, Titan, and Warlock which includes all 9 subclasses.
-
You're right. Here is a more accurate representation of the stats. The highest is 1.09, and the lowest is .94. Everything else hovers right around 1, which reinforces your argument and makes actual sense. www.guardian.gg

Edited by Sixclicks: 10/19/2015 8:38:41 PMYes, those stats make a lot more sense than the Destiny Tracker ones. The problem with the DT ones is they only represent a select group of players rather than all players. It says this at the top of their page. Thanks for that link btw. Although I am kind of suprised that GS and SB are "neck and neck." I guess that's why so many Gunslingers are complaining about their GG not killing Sunbreakers.
-
Gunslingers super is still quite strong, and their users have had a year to make the most out of them. While Sunbreakers super is clearly OP, I don't think the rest of their subclass has been fully figured out to make best use of it, which may increase the numbers over time, depending on how Bungie adjusts the whole subclass. I will say this though. If gunslinger got as many bullets as hammers it would be way scarier than HoS. The lack of time to travel combined with great aim assist and combustion would push it easily to best super. So I certainly hope we don't see them buff that xD.

Edited by Sixclicks: 10/19/2015 7:53:02 PMHow so? Please explain to me why it doesn't work that way. I'd love to hear it.

They took K/D from other subclasses.
-
Edited by Sixclicks: 10/19/2015 7:28:47 PMNo, I'm talking about the part where it says Hunter, Titan, and Warlock. All three classes are shown as above 1.0. This is impossible. Look at the K/D by class/subclass section. First 3 bars.

Edited by InfernalDemise: 10/19/2015 7:40:28 PMLmao, do you understand what that stat means? It's entirely possible for them all to be above 1.0, but I'd love to hear your logic.
-
Edited by Sixclicks: 10/19/2015 7:44:08 PM1 kill equals 1 death for someone else. Meaning all three classes together must average a 1.0. Throw in suicides as a factor and the average must be below a 1.0. Are you saying people just pull kills out of thin air? I'm not saying a class can't be above 1.0. I'm saying all three cannot be above 1.0.
-
Lol. You're one of those people that think 1.0 has to be the average just because it's in the middle. Thanks for the chuckle.
-
It has to be 1.0 because it is kills/deaths and for every kill there is a death. If not every class was positive and 1 was negative it would make more sense but that isn't how it works. It is possible however for every class to be negative because you can die without giving the other team a kill (suicide)
-
lets say there is 2 teams with 2 players on both teams one person gets 2 kills 1 death the other 1 kill 2 death on both teams 2 KD + 0.5 KD / 2 players = 1.25 meaning both teams had an average of 1.25 KD (destiny doesn't count suicides as deaths unless someone hits you first)
-
No, it's based on simple math. There is always a kill gained for every death besides suicides. Suicides are the part that makes the overall average below a 1.0 as I said. This is simple mathematics. Not just assuming the middle integer is the average. The limit of all of the population's K/D approaches an asymptote of 1.0.
