I haven't even picked up Spindle and this breakdown already makes me want to use it over SS. The biggest issue for me with SS is ammo capacity. A high DPS weapon like Spindle also has the added benefit of being a special weapon - more ammo on the ground makes it way more convenient in longer boss fights.
