Ma'aul is annoying simply because the Shockwave from his slam does a significant portion of dmg. It's not Fist of Havoc nor Landfall. If I'm in the air, there's no reason that should hurt me let alone send me flying.

FoH is a lightning bolt striking the titan, thats why its aoe goes straight up. Same with land fall.
