Why is the Court of Oryx always empty?
Why is it that the Court of Oryx is always empty? It seems like every time I play, there's never anyone around to run the Court with me. I've been lucky maybe, twice, since the beginning of TTK, but that's it. I never see anyone else in the area. I've tried running into multiple areas and back to the Hall of Souls to see if maybe it'll take me to another instance of the area, I've even tried going to orbit and back down, and still nothing. Mind you, I've come to the Court at all times of the day and never see anyone around the place. Is it that everyone's just too busy running the raid now or is this the fate of CoO?

3 RepliesIt's a technical thing. If you rush straight to the court, matchmaking doesn't have enough time to put you in a lobby with other people so it starts your own lobby. Next time, walk through the entire transition areas to give the game time to put you in a lobby with other folks. Ever since I learned about this, I've never entered another empty court.

the reason people hardly do court of oryx is because 9 times out of 10 only the person that puts the rune in gets any rewards, I helped a friend yesterday with 10 mixed runes and got 2 blue engrams

I agree. I have to use LFG to find people. If I don't I sit there for ages and occasionally one person will show up.

Waste of time except for quests/calcified fragments. Rewards are crap.

Not really anything worth hanging around for. Get in beat the week's tier 3 then no point going back.

I've never had a problem. If no one's there....I'll start up a lower level one just mess around and within a few mins ppl start coming. Had 5 or 6 ppl on one last night for a bit....it was pretty funny cause I was actually going to just go by myself and open gnashing teeth chest. I just ran up during these guys events snagged it and then started putting in work on Lokar

4 RepliesPro tip: If you get to HoS and see nobody, turn and walk (as in, don't run) back until you see the Hull Breach pop up on screen. Then go back, again, WALKING to HoS. This will force the server to do a new search. It's important that you don't run this. Bungie posted an article on the way matchmaking works, and this was a big part of it. Works for us every time.

2 RepliesYou got to bait them. People can see the boss marker from anywhere in the hall of souls. Run a few reciprocals and some people will usually show. Also I have never tried it but I think you can cancel an event and get your rune back as long as it isn't the last 30 seconds. Though I would like someone to confirm.

Well it was 3 am this morning and I decided to take a little trip there, this is what happened: I found one guy, we said fugg it lets do this, we fugged shit up, then a third showed, alrighty then let's continue, fugged some more shit up, a fourth showed up, now it's a party, continued to fugg shit up, then 2 more showed up, money, antiquated runes here we go, success! It must be RNG's fault I guess.

People might disagree with me, I'm not even sure if I fully believe it myself but.... When I spawn into patrol. I walk slowly Into the next area that contains the court. Somewhere I read that sprinting into the next area doesn't give you enough time to be matchmade into an existing lobby. I have no idea how true this is, but every time I've done it there's been atleast 2 other people already there.
