Except they're similar. Have you never even [u]played[/u] Borderlands?

First of all, this post is old and not even relevant anymore. Second of all, If you like Borderlands then play that instead of destiny. Third of all, yes I have played Borderlands, it's a fun game, personally I like 2 more than the Pre-Sequel. Lastly, why are you comparing guns from different games? Obviously one is going to be better than the other, and borderlands is KNOWN for making over-powered weapons compared to destiny, which is a little different.
