But there are 8 :p the nine refers to many things,the nine warminds the nine "planets",the speculated 9 surviving ahamkara dragons. We really don't know.but its(at least not in my opinion) the planets since something had to send xur to free skolas and send him back. On a side note there's 9 types of enemies in destiny
