Hello and welcome Guardians, I'll be doing research on this (sorry for the delay) and updating what i find here. Not everything i say will be directly tied to each other, im posting EVERYTHING i find. Thanks guys.

Here's something I've found. These are clearly docking ports, and the same upward "C' shape is found under the Triangle. That may imply that those are coordinates?
http://norse-mythology.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Valknut-1-300x263.png
that;s the Valknut (val-noot)
This explanation is all the more plausible since the form of heathen Norse magic that the sources mention the most often, namely seidr, consisted of reaching a heightened state of consciousness wherein one could discern the web of destiny and re-weave particular strands in order to accomplish the practitioner’s purpose. Weaving in this symbolic sense and spiritual power were almost synonymous, so it should come as no surprise that a symbol involving power over life and death would be visualized as a knot.
furthering this look closely there's a circle with an arrow poitning upwards, that arrow points towards Tower North (where the Traveler can be seen)
A less satisfying explanation that some scholars have invoked is that the Valknut could be the “Hrungnir‘s Heart” (Hrungnis hjarta) mentioned in Snorri Sturluson’s Prose Edda: “Hrungnir had a heart made of hard stone and pointed with three corners, just like the carved symbol which has been called Hrungnir’s heart ever since.”[5] All that this description tells us about the visual form of “Hrungnir’s Heart” is that it had a triangular shape. That’s such a general description that the idea that Hrungnir’s Heart and the Valknut are the same symbol could only really be taken seriously if the archaeological context in which the symbol appears were to match Snorri’s description. As we’ve seen, this is far from the case. The “heart made of hard stone” is utterly incongruous with Odin’s ecstatic magic.
So, given the present state of our knowledge, we can reasonably assume that the meaning of the Valknut has much to do with death, the transition from life to death and probably back again.
So now look at the original image again. It has a circle (a flat sphere) with an arrow in it, pointing towards Tower North (which is where you can see the Traveler) Could the Traveler be...waking? in the Taken King? maybe even a new breath? giving us hope?
http://symboldictionary.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/smoon.jpg
The crescent represents the powers of the moon- reflective and receptive. (An example of this symbol taken to its highest symbolic meaning would be the Holy Grail) A reversed crescent often represents emptiness and illusion.
"the Holy Grail" a similar quest we could be on?
http://symboldictionary.net/library/graphics/symbols/downward.jpg
The downward pointing triangle is sometimes referred to as the chalice. It is the symbol of water (as it flows downward), the grace of heaven, and the womb. it is one of the most ancient symbols of female divinity, as a representation of the genitalia of the goddess.
"female divinity" I personally believe the Traveler to be Alpha Lupi, the Alpha she-wolf, could this be referring to her?
http://symboldictionary.net/library/graphics/symbols/vertical.jpg
First, a vertical axis, representing man, the body, and our upright posture, which is unique in the animal kingdom. The vertical line symbolizes the path from earth to heaven and the realm of spirit, symbolizing the dual nature of man, who embodies the spiritual and the temporal. The vertical axis equates directly to the human spine and to the tree of life, as well as to the axis mundi, the great pole around which the constellations of the zodiac revolve. These seemingly disparate ideas share a common idea- they link the earth and heavens. Thus is the concept of the connection between earth and heaven established- and also the divinity of man, who alone is built on this axis.
"tree of life" and "connection between earth and heaven" these two are referring to my next point....
http://symboldictionary.net/library/graphics/symbols/circle.jpg
The Circle is the most common and universal signs, found in all cultures. It is the symbol of the sun in its limitless or boundless aspect. It has no beginning or end, and no divisions, making it the perfect symbol of completeness, eternity, and the soul
"eternity, and the soul" Guardians can't die because they were given a new soul....
I'll be taking a break for food, but my current conclusion on the data i've found is that the Nine are playing their tricks again. Toying with our lives and our destiny. I think the Traveler is healing more and more, and that this is a foreshadow to her reawakening.
GAMEPLAY SPOILER
I Just received my first encrypted patrol mission, it started with kill enemies, then critical kills, then nothing. I threw grenades melee heavy secondary crits, no improvements. But then i thought KHARRIS! i had to go to the Breach and fight him! and thought how awesome a little mission that was. Upon entering i didnt find him, but did get an update to my encryption. It read
?ee?in?s ?x?r?ss??
I moved further in. and it updated again!
?ee?ings ex?r?ss?d
I went all the way back to our original revival point. danced, and it finished. then my ghost said this exactly.
So that's what the message was about. Wait...Could this have been a signal sent by...Nevermind.
Sent by...the Traveler?
just came back to the tower and what do i see? Flowers. The only planter with flowers, and its where this symbol is. This symbol that suggests fertility, and new life, is the only planter with flowers. The stars are aligning Guardians.
Where will you be when the Traveler wakes?
-
It disappeared for me.. I noticed it like 2 days ago and now dec 21st its gone? Just wondering what it is.. I looked all over the tower and i cannot find it now
-
Hey guys, if you follow the direction of the arrows next to the IX and jump over the fence on top of the structure with the strobe light and stay close to the fence side and look down you'll see some sort of a writing. It looks Arabic i think or i could be wrong, can someone maybe transelate please.

In all fairness, he did say he was explaining it, not explaining what Bungie called him up and told him, which leaves it up to the high poSsibility that he was explaining his theories and not necessarily 'excepted' lore. so people, please try to hold off on the "click bait" and "not everything in Destiny has to be deep" complaints. The point of the forums is too have fun, not force our opinions on everybody else and require them to enjoy the game the same exact way as we do. His choice to share his thoughts...your choice to be respectful of how he enjoys the game and your choice to leave if you didn't like/agree with it or share your ideas or retorts to his theory. Hopefully you will choose not to demean him for thinking differently than you and if you want to disagree, will be able to do so in a respectful and philosophically discussion based manner. They, Bungie, refuse to tell us much of anything because that's how Bungie keeps the game alive. They've done this with all their series and games. Some companies (like Bethesda for example) spend hours upon hours creating story and detailing out the minutia in side stories. Other companies, like Bungie and Wizards likes to create a really cool story/pretext and let the community kind of drive the actual minutia by leaving unexplained mysteries. (Bethesda leaves some things up for discussion, but those are typically main-story related, but not main-story impacting pieces for those who play their Elder Scrolls games for example). Both story telling techniques work really well because both drive community interaction and lore in a different way. Thankfully they didn't quite pull a "Lost". That said, if you know his threads are like this, going to each one and calling it click bait is kind of hypocritical. Just enjoy reading his views and explanations and/or offer your own during views and/or invite his posts. Some of us like to see stuff like this because it makes us think about our own currently developing ideas of Destiny and can see the title and know that it's his view not Bungie's... It's all about context, because honestly how much does Bungie explain the minutia? Doesn't fit their choice if story telling. Keep up the good work and continue to share your thoughts. While some of us may disagree on some parts (out all parts depending) it's still great to be creative and to try and relate what you know and what you see. It's like each lore diver is a separate neuron in a massive brain that is the community. Cheers!

I think it just means that xur is in the tower. Spooki.
-
I think that the encrypted message was from the Nine, especially since it rewards you with strange coins.
-
2 RepliesWow, this stuff is ridiculous. Not everything has some super in depth mystery or meaning. Yah know what probably happened? Dude's boss was probably like "bro, it was cool at first for Xur to have his little gimmick of always switching spots and now it's just getting annoying. Just make some little sign for people to quickly know where he is. Don't make it too big and noticeable though in case some people still enjoy searching for him. Oh and by the way, how are you coming along with those TPS reports?" Seriously though, enough with the over analyzing everything in this community.
-
Xur is just a shenaniganiser, case closed.
-
loominati confirmed
-
Geez this post again....I thought it died....its xur that's all.
-
27 RepliesYou present your threads as credible and authoritative when you use phrases like "explained in depth", when you're really just making shit up. It's pretty successful, as it does bait me into clicking on them (to my regret). Honestly, you ought to start calling them things like "Here is a completely wild, insane guess about some innocuous symbol" or "Come see the incredible self-styled 'symbologist' AnonPig Langdon in his tweed jacket while he pretends to know everything".
-
Looks like it's there to tell you where xur is
-
Im an expert in norse and viking culture magic and history none of what you qouted makes any sense sources please
-
1 ReplyHate to bust a bubble but i think its there everytime xur is
-
It's not there anymore
-
Explain, Kys
-
2 Repliesi believe that the nine are fuelling the fight on both sides to keep us guardians busy whilst them or whoever the work with fiisbes their scheme wether it be the vex cabal fallen or hive or even the traveller. they want us to keep fighting endlessly in hope that we never uncover their plot for the univers and that is why he sells us weaponry and armour
-
1 ReplyI don't think the Nine have that much control over us. Mara Sov has a great understanding of the Nine, if we were their pawns, surely she would know and would not have helped us.
-
Yes it comes with Xur and leaves
-
The Strange Coins Bank :)
-
Yea! I noticed that to! But now it's gone!?
-
It has pretty flowers too
