Based on the fact that it's fkn hard, that's what. I wouldn't touch matchmaking on raids and/or bosses. Afkers, no mics, under leveled gear, noobs, bad players, quitters, annoying kids, the list goes on and on. DestinyLFG.net my friend, that's how I beat Skolas. It was still rough, and took a couple different groups and many hours to beat it. At least you have some control on who you're playing with there.

What control? You can look at all the numbers you want. You still won't know how someone from LFG plays. LFG is literally just manual matchmaking.

I disagree quite a bit. At least on LFG you can have some basic filter, not just completely random players. Mic required, certain weapons or experience wanted, etc. It also takes an ounce of motivation to use it, that alone weeds out the lazy fks. Sure, you still have no gauge of whether they are a good player or not, but I'd take that any day over random matchmaking.
