It's in their contract, lol. Bungie needs to keep selling to keep Activi$ion happy and in return will continue to invest(fund) Destiny. It's also stated that if they should go seperate ways Bungie will keep Destiny IP. If their contract lasts 10 years(or what is stated) then the IP will go to Activision, much like Microsoft owns Halo franchise now.
