You can get a refund for your purchase. Even if you already paid in full. Digital pre-orders cannot get refunds which is why people were upset.

I cancelled my Digital Pre-Orders on the PSN store without any issues. to buy the Physical Collector's Edition. I am in the UK dont no if that makes any difference tho. also they did not take payment till the game comes out. so this might be why i could do it. also in the UK the only place to buy the Physical Collector's Edition is game.co.uk and is £79.99 but the PSN store download Collector's Edition is £74.99. so cost an extra £5 for the Physical stuff. so we should also be included in the above statement as paying more then the Digital ver.

Well that is very unusual then because both Sony and Microsoft policy are no refunds so the vast majority of people cannot get a refund for their digital purchase. Them not taking payment is also odd since the system generally autatically takes it out immediately. So I do not know what was going on there. But regardless, you are the exception then. The vast majority cannot get refunds thus Bungie offered this. If you ordered the physical edition you are getting physical items for your money-those are your bonus. And with the physical edition anyone can cancel their order- they are not locked in hence why this offer does not apply to them.

The problem with that is the fact that I still want the physical stuff, like the strange coin replica. I can't go buy the coin separately so in order to do that. I'd have to rebuy old content.

Right. But that is not what this special offer was for you know? If you want that stuff then you are still getting it. The offer is for when the digital content could only be bought through this edition then they added another option for cheaper. But the people that already bought it for the digital goodies were out of luck. You are not out of luck as you still have the choice see what I mean?

It's your choice to want all content. I believe Bungie is doing the right thing by providing content for those who bought the digital edition who aren't entitled to a refund. They don't get physical items and what made their edition special is now a separate bundle. You guys get physical goodies no-one else can and they get digital goodies no one else can.
