People should learn that change is a good thing. Quit crying and try something new.

You use something new and I'll use what I want. K?
People should learn that change is a good thing. Quit crying and try something new.
People should learn that Companies can't say they're selling one thing and instead sell something else. Use your voice and have some standards!

It was 8 months ago, and they didn't have people get the DLC then tell them. Grow up.
It was 8 months ago, and they didn't have people get the DLC then tell them. Grow up.
Holding people and businesses accountable for what they say, is not a childish act.

Did you plan your retirement on keeping these weapons? Did this quote shoot your dog? In businesses, especially in a case like this, trying to get a new game going, the developers were likely pressured from the community into giving a quote that may have changed over time. But they're probably going have year 2 etheric light at some point, anyways
-
Did you plan your retirement on keeping these weapons?
No, just my character.
were likely pressured from the community into giving a quote that may have
So you are saying you guess everything is alright. Good for you man, don't let me pee on your parade - just realize that isn't the way some of us like to live our lives, guessing at the good intentions of companies.
-
FIne. Let me change it. I don't have proof, but to anyone that thinks about it, it's obvious that that's what happened. SO, how are you going evade the actual point now?
I don't have proof, but to anyone that thinks about it, it's obvious that that's what happened. SO, how are you going evade the actual point now?
There is a lot you do not understand, if you believe that what you see is obvious to anyone who thinks about it. What exactly do you think is the actual point? That it is the responsibility of the consumer to presume the best intentions from a company, and endorse them using manipulative tactics, and lies? If your supposedly obvious presumptions are correct, then why hasn't the company simply explained the situation?
-
We pressured bungie into giving us a statement on exotics. They didn't have very much planned out, and of course stuff will change over 8 months. Even if I'm wrong, it's pretty clear that these weapons will be brought up to new standards eventually, like how it already happened. Are you trying to say that it was all an evil plot on behalf of the satanic company activision?
-
Are you trying to say that it was all an evil plot on behalf of the satanic company activision?
That is as huge a leap in one direction as your defense of Bungie is in the other. I am not claiming to know, but it is clear that it is a better idea to require the company to explain itself rather than everyone think the happiest of thoughts. This is the real world, you are accountable for the things you say and do.
-
I don't believe we have a formal statement saying that the exotics are useless forever. it's just as liekyl that we'll be able to ugrade them, if not at launch, then later.
I don't believe we have a formal statement saying that the exotics are useless forever. it's just as liekyl that we'll be able to ugrade them, if not at launch, then later.
Who is evading the point now? Isn't it a better idea to require the company to explain itself rather than everyone presume the best? Isn't that the best way to ensure you end up buying what you intend to and are dealing with a respectable organization? The Update was titled, "Just the Facts", they specifically said, "The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected." This isn't just about exotics, it's about planned obsolescence of the items which represent our character's progress, history and stats.

Called it.

The guns aren't being removed from your inventory, the damage is just being dropped, like how it should have been a long time ago. As for the etheri light quote, I don't think i'm evading the point as much as I'm suggesting we shouldn't be getting so worked up. Back to the exotic quote, you have to realize that bungie was between a rock and a hard place. They could either ignore what the community wanted to know, or make a statement that they weren.t confident with, assuming I'm wrong about upgrading them eventually. In your mind, what should have they done?
-
Isn't it a better idea to require the company to explain itself rather than everyone presume the best? Isn't that the best way to ensure you end up buying what you intend to and are dealing with a respectable organization?
This is the point I made that you are evading. It clearly answers the question you end your comment with. It is a question you continue to ignore.
They could either ignore what the community wanted to know, or make a statement that they weren.t confident with
This is very creative of you, I am sure you could do something creative with an imagination like that. I usually reserve the benefit of the doubt for close friends and family. I recommend that you hold companies accountable for what they say, because the nature of the relationship is not the same as friends and family.
Called it.
From your most recent comment to me. What exactly do you think you "called"?

Bungie said in an article that year 1 exotics are being brought to year 2 over time. https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3ilsic/the_new_edge_article_for_the_taken_king_confirms/. Not trying to be a prick, but his argument is kinda pointless now, so see ya.

You aren't a prick, you just clearly haven't been paying any attention to our conversation and appear to be lacking in integrity. The conversation isn't pointless, and anyone who reads through it will simply interpret you as running away from it. Have a good one, regardless.
-
The bungie quote was just about exotics, you know. And bungie has shown they intend to follow through with what they said.
-
The bungie quote was just about exotics
Nope. The quote is in my comment above and you can see it for yourself. This is why they created Etheric Light last expansion. You have ignored my question four times now, I'm going to ignore you completely now.

Edited by BassTurdo: 8/28/2015 4:50:36 AMAlright, I barely know what you mean, so I will list and answer all the questions you've had so you can enlighten me. What exactly do you think you "called"? The exotics being brought back up. Who is evading the point now? Rhetorical question. Isn't it a better idea to require the company to explain itself rather than everyone presume the best? Company has explained itself. Isn't that the best way to ensure you end up buying what you intend to and are dealing with a respectable organization? Extension of last question. What exactly do you think is the actual point? Not sure what this question was supposed to mean. That it is the responsibility of the consumer to presume the best intentions from a company, and endorse them using manipulative tactics, and lies? The company was not using any of these, they have shown that their statement about keeping exotics was true. If your supposedly obvious presumptions are correct, then why hasn't the company simply explained the situation? Company now has. Let's take another look at the quote. “The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we’ve read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected.” We know that our exotics are fine, so let's focus on the legendaries. The difference between exotics and legendaries are that 1. You can equip one exotic at a time. and 2. Exotics are a lot more unique. I don't think that letting us keep our exotics as long as their power is kept in check is an issue, considering we can have one armor and 1 weapon at a time, yet if in each dlc if all of our gear is just as good as the new stuff, this creates an issue. Considering how VoC, HoC, Fatebringer, and arguably Felwinter's are just as good as those guns can get without blurring the line between an exotic and legendary difference, what's the point of aiming for new gear? The only way around this is by making the new legendaries even better, which just inspires bullet sponge bosses/makes mechanics in fights pointless. I think it's safe to say that Bungie never intended for you to be using Fatebringer for 10 years and 4 games and that their quote was only about exotics, and that that's a good thing.

Or combine new and old. "We used bullets last time. Lets kill Oryx with stones and slingshots!"
-
I foresee us being able to use fallen turrets on oryx... Now that would be fun now wouldn't it.
-
That would be fun, but that would just be copying the turrets in the Crucible. You want something "new".
