While I personally don't mind the clean slate, I can understand why others feel so strongly about their year one stuff.
I suggest that anyone who has completed the Triumphs challenge are allowed to ascend THREE legendary weapons and armor, of their choosing, into year two attack power.
That way, Destiny vets will feel rewarded for their year one adventures and year one legendaries won't flood year two content like Bungie fears it will.

I don't think they would but I like it

Yes yes yes this needs to be done

This concept is actually quite good. I like it. Though the amounts and qualifications might change, based on target audience - because crucible guys don't care about level advantages (some make that abundantly clear).
-
I've been playing since Beta last year, haven't done all the Triumphant Moments. I've played just as long, why can't I save some of my gear?
-
That is nobody else fault. The triumphs are super easy anyways
-
It would be OK, but everyone would choose FateBringer, VoC, and something else.

To get around that, Bungie could create enemies that use void shields to make FB less effective and make room for other void based weapons to shine. As it is now, there are very few enemies that use void shields making that element underutilized in the PvE game.

I second this idea. I planned on keeping some of my old armor for novelty purposes, but if I could ascend just a few pieces of armor and weapons that I hold dear, that would be fantastic!

Pretty sweet idea homie

Thanks.

I like this idea...

So you are only vet if you did 100 crucible matches? This is more vet thing than year 1 rewards.
-
It will give players one hell of an incentive to go out and do all those activities, which is what BUNGIE wants. And players get what they want when they complete the challenge. I know there are a lot of people who aren't big PvP players but 100 matches is nothing. A bunch of them showed they are already willing to do crucible for powerful weapons via the Thorn bounty.
