Well we did learn that they were discontinuing legendary upgrades the immediate week after the last IB. The very next week after working on getting those etheric lights, we found out they lost their use in the future.

Did we find out they won't drop or won't continue to be useful for year 2 weapons? I'm thinking they'd still be useful if I ever get my P' Foil, right?

I'm not sure if they will continue to drop. I thought Bungie stated that etheric light will stop being obtainable. Either way they are being left behind in year one, so basically they are rendered useless. At least for endgame/year one players they won't really continue to serve a purpose.

Well, I will be collecting enough to finish upgrading my raid weapons then I guess. Even the ones I don't have yet.

So I wouldn't think that they wouldn't have IB the week before TTK releases.
