Is there any reason to play the next Iron Banner?
I love ToO because of the smaller teams and the tighter communication.
Iron Banner has always been something I forced myself through, just to get the gear rewards. And it seems like every month, Iron Banner lag gets worse and worse. Last month, at least twice a day, I and everyone in my friend list, simultaneously experienced Xbox live downage for 10 minutes at a time.
With TTK releasing soon, and all pre-TTK legendary gear being stuck at Year One levels, I'm not even seeing a point to playing Iron Banner this time around. I don't see the worth in subjecting myself to the lagfest that Iron Banner has slowly turned into.
Do any of you plan to still play? Why? Do you think there's a chance they might make this next IB's gear be TTK gear?
Edit: I decided I'm still gonna play for the rewards because Bungie can never make up their mind about these things. There's gonna be enough vault space to justify holding on to gear with hopes that they may change their minds.

1 ReplyIts like mowing your lawn, you can't say you're not going to do it because it's just going to get long again, you do it to experience your nice lawn right now. Playing to get gear that is usual currently in the game is all about the experience and having it while it's relevent.

I've played every iron banner since January and although it gets a grind towards the end of the week I generally love it but this time just seems pointless. We know that all gear and even etheric light will be obsolete in a couple weeks. If they'd just brought the weapons patch in it would have been really fun. I can't understand why they didn't. Now even when the patch comes it won't be balanced as there will be huge differences in light level between players

If you don't plan on playing ttk then yeah. Year 1 weapons will perform as they always have in year 1 activities.

If it is after, then there is obviously all the reasons in the world to play it, as the new Iron Banner armor and weapons all look awesome. :EDIT and by 'next' iron banner, I presume you meant the one after this one? How about just play for fun?
