Sols original posts were always well written, but his responses to those who disagreed with him were always really rude. He deserved his ban.

There were rude people replying to the posts too, in fact, the most knuckleheaded,disrespectful people were the ones who disagreed with him.

I am aware, but that's still not a justification. "Hey! I shouldn't go to prison for murder! OJ Simpson got away with it! It's not fair!" If you do something wrong, prepare for the consequences. They won't catch you every time, but when they do and you get banned, you deserve it. Play nice, guys. Don't feed the trolls.

Not true, only time I ever saw him make a "rude" comment was when someone was blatantly offensive toward him, not just simply disagreeing, and even then it took some additional prodding

No no I'm sure he broke the code and the ban was justified, even he has stated he crossed the line, I was referring to posts he's made previously. As far as this one goes though, apparently these guys escalated the argument and....well you see the result

Oh yea I'm sure they did, man.. Trolls will go very far because the internet hides their identity. But as a famous champion once said: "Do not become a monster to defeat one." Sols was always well written in his main posts, and I'm sure he's a good guy, and just like any other human, when pushed, you can sometimes react in a very rude way. But that's where self control comes in. That's why the mute function exists. We can't just do an eye for an eye, because, well... You know the saying lol.

I don't care who they are, and no one is a "special case". It's one thing to insult our hosts, or to give the middle finger at general authority here, that sort of crap comes with the territory. But the one thing that we ALL agreed on when EACH of us joined, was that we would not insult, abuse or attack each other. So, if I see it in the report queue, I am not looking to see who said it, I am looking at what they said. No one can MAKE you put something offensive or rule-violating to the right of your avatar. There is no "returning fire" on the forums. There is no "defending yourself when someone has insulted you". And the line of "I see it everywhere and it goes unaddressed, so I decided to do it too and expect no consequences either". All of those are false arguments, rationalization and an attempt to excuse poor interaction with your fellow community members. And there certainly isn't a "special class" that deserves or gets "special treatment". And as far as the comments regarding "others are free to call people fags, wish their mother would have aborted them and a lot more." (to quote Cooper), I will and ALWAYS act when I see those things. I see those things by chance as I scroll through the forums, and I make them disappear. But I don't and I CAN'T see them all. The #Destiny forum alone will have 10+ pages , 25 threads per page, each with posts less than 5 minutes old. There is no possible way for me, or any small group of individuals to read all of the content posted by the members of this site. Do you know who CAN? The members. If you've seen interactions that you know are unacceptable, people insulting others, using slurs, calling names, being abusive, hateful or downright assholes? Don't shake your head and let that shit go as "a sign that this site sucks". Click on the report button PLEASE! Because those reports make it to me and my colleagues. We evaluate the post, and if the report was accurate, we ban the offender. Because YOU took the time to point them out. And whoever is already doing that? Thank you. Really. I honestly and sincerely thank you. If I could buy you all a beverage, I would. Finally, as to the cause, length and other details of another members ban? That's between the banned member and the hosts of this site. Unbans are rare, infrequent, and most members simply wait out their ban and don't repeat the steps that lead to it. I don't know, don't need to know, and don't want to know the details of this latest Internet drama. I did want to share my perspective and set straight some of the mistakes and assumptions being made in this thread. Maybe I did, maybe I didn't. He must've said some pretty mean stuff then. Like everyone said, Sols had some good things to say. But in the posts that were replies that not everybody would read, he was bad enough to get himself banned.

There are a handful of Ninjas compared to hundreds upon hundreds of posts every MINUTE. They are not employees by Bungie to do this so they do not sit on here reading every post for every second of their life, and possibly have other jobs for themselves outside of this forum. Taking that math into consideration, there are probably a shit ton of conduct breaking posts that slip through their watch. Most ninja post I've read have said this themselves and that they rely on people reporting posts to catch the ones they don't see themselves. Report a post, and then its bookmarked for them to judge if it broke conduct. Attacking them because they got one post and not another is like saying a police officer 40 miles away from a house that was burglarized is at fault because he didn't catch it.
