No, I paid £37.50 (ex-VAT) for Destiny when it came out which is $58.67 - very close to the $60 that the US customers paid.

  • Not true - I paid another £7.50 (VAT at 20%) on top of the £37.50 but we were comparing the prices of the games without sales tax.

  • The European Commission changed the law to apply to the whole of Europe - they were actually catching up with laws that the UK had already implemented years earlier - to stop companies from failing to pay the correct VAT when selling goods to UK customers . I bought the game through Amazon who were already charging 20% VAT on goods sold in the UK before the 1st Jan 2015 change to European Law so in fact nothing has changed when buying products in the UK from the rest of Europe.
