How do you feel about the price of TTK DLC being £40 = $62.79 I simply cannot understand it. Why do we have to pay an extra $22.79 for a digital download?!
$40 = £25.55, add the 20℅ VAT the UK pays, and you are at £30.66 Not £40.
They have valued TTK at $40, not the price of a full game which is $60. Yet over here in the UK its valued at £40, which is the price of a full game. (Fallout 4 will be £42)
I bought Destiny brand new at release for £41.99, now they want £40 for TTK. It doesn't have as much content as vanilla Destiny did, so how can they charge the same price?
I know there any many more currencies affected, I'm just using it as its my currency.
Another point to make is, the day TTK was announced for purchase on the Xbox store it was £27.99 ($43.53) After 24 hours they bumped it to £40.
Can we at least get some answers please Bungie/Activision?
Thanks for reading, Remo.

For the record. Change your Xbox to access by US in settings and buy Destiny = profit

Edited by Lead Affinity: 9/1/2015 7:11:26 PMThey do it because they can, but they're not alone. It happens all the time. It's not a simple case of doing an exchange rate comparison. Our economy, our 'way of life', how we value things, what we expect to pay for things, all dictates how much we actually do pay for things. If we all stopped buying stuff, this DLC for example, then the price would drop - but we don't! We'll pay the high asking price, so the asking price will stay high. I recently bought, in a moment of madness it would seem, the digital Legendary Edition as I wanted to be able to share the game with my kids (and remove the need for my discs), despite it being a massive £74.99! I'm therefore part of the problem. It leaves me with two hard copies of the original game and digital DLC I & II, redundant. (I hope to sell the discs to offset the outlay.) But I, and especially my two kids, love playing the game and I, rightly or wrongly, thought it the best option. I will end by saying this though - this'll be my last Destiny related purchase, regardless of any 10 year plan. I've spent far too much already. I normally feel happy after buying stuff, but this has left a bad taste in my mouth. I feel shafted, as a UK resident, a Destiny player and a digital purchaser. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me - you won't fool me a third time...you probably will...a fool and their money, afterall... ;(

1 ReplyIf you like 40 dollars is much. In australia TTK is 69 dollars so stop complaining.
-
1 ReplyI got the legendary edition for £35 So I can sell destiny and the first 2 expansions. = profit. Simply games
-
Simple im not buying it. They can only rip you off if you let them. Theres a bunch of new games coming soon and destiny is old tired and boring.

Edited by skunkymonkey55: 8/17/2015 4:53:49 PMNot only are we being shafted by the currency difference we have been shafted from DAY1!! We all payed the money for the game then we PAID for the DLC. Now as far as am concerned this new part TTK is DLC so WHY DO WE HAVE TO PAY AGAIN?? Sorry but this game was great when it first came out then the lag switchers got to it, they gave away DLC that I had PAID for.......no refund was given to anyone that had bought it!! Then we have the ppl with garbage connections who lag all over the game making a mockery off the game and making it unplayable! Need I continue? No they should be PAYING US to play this game and WE a should NOT be paying for this next DLC as that's exactly what TTK is, and as far as am concerned I've paid more than over the odds for this game and they still can't fix connections or deal with cheaters its been all about the money from day one!!!!

4 RepliesIf you look at the download sizes taken king is alot larger then vanilla destiny ( vanilla @ 25gb abd TTK @ 40gb)
-
2 RepliesThis really needs addressing, I love destiny but it's just not fair that I'm being charged way more money than what all my fellow US destiny players are paying?? Like say TTK was $60 and £40, then I wouldn't complain about the price because even if it's a let down or the best thing ever at least we all paid the same price? But $40 and £40?! It should be $40 and £25/30 for the exact same product? Same price for same product applies to everyone, I'm not just complaining about the UK price, I understand you guys in Australia are getting kicked in the nuts too:(
-
16 RepliesStop with the bullshit. Australians have to pay $70 for TTK, and we don't complain. So stop complaining.
-
I bought it for 27.99 the day i saw it thinking it might go up to 40 zero regrets...pricing still bullcrap tho
-
6 RepliesAccording to Bungie, $40=€40=£40=¥40
-
Meh, your fault for using the pound.
-
4 RepliesIt's been said many times so you are not new. Btw you are not the only one in Europe. People from the UK only talk about themselves. Guess what? You are not alone.

Its unnaceptable I've seen multiple topics like this and still no answer. It's pointless even attempting to get an answer, other countries are affected by this aswell so just vote with your wallet and wait for the price to come because it's obvious bungie or whoever is trying to milk us for money don't care so why should we? In the meantime I will be playing gears of war and waiting for it to come down to the original price that was on the xbox store. More than £30 is no buy for me I will never pay that much for dlc end of.
-
The legendary edition, with all three dlc and the game is the same price as TTK on it's own, in what reality does that even make sense? Bungie will never address this which makes it worse, almost like they know it's BS but just don't care.
-
1 ReplyYou know what would be easy? Don't buy it. Seriously, vote with your wallet and the price will drop.
-
4 RepliesThey won't answer. They won't change the price. Make your peace with it and move on. You will get some offers. Simply games had the legendary edition a few weeks ago for £35.
-
1 ReplyIn the US sales tax is not included in the posted price of goods. Some have sales tax rates over 10%. The average is about 6% though.
-
Its destiny just do it
-
I just bought the £74.99version cos I'm tired and wasn't concentrating. Wahhhh
-
Have had this discussion with many of my online friends from UK. Its bs. I have no idea why the hell they cant make it a direct exchange. If it was a physical copy that was being shipped over, i might be able to argue the point.

2 RepliesIs there a standalone edition coming out or just the legendary edition?
