Using old weapons in battle isn't the only way to keep them relevant. I think Bungie should make specific old legendary gear into materials(that can still be used as weapons) that make new legendarys or exotics stronger in some way. Let's say there's an exotic weapon that requires the player to have Fatebringer to unlock its exotic perk. That will keep players searching for Fatebringer, while making the ones that have it already feel like it was worth grinding for it.

  • That's a great idea! But one question: there are lots of legendaries and not as many exotics. What happens if someone wanted to keep spare change?

  • Tbh, I was mostly thinking about legendary raid gear since those are the armor and weapons players care most about lol. But I guess other legendary gear can be used to beef up TTK gear in a similar way, but in a much less specific way. Like there's a new TTK weapon that can absorb old legendary weapons to give them the same perks, or TTK weapons that can absorb a certain amount of random old legendarys to give them an extra perk slot. Those are just solutions off the top of my head though.

  • I haven't seen any ideas like yours yet, good thinking outside the box! Like xur sells weapon frames for certain exotic bounties, what if he sold them for legendary guns also? Sort of playing off your idea...
