Which endgame, moment of triumph boss (Bane of _____) do you think was the hardest to defeat. Can you also put why you think that boss is hardest.
I've only taken down Skolas so I'm trying to find out which boss is hardest

Edited by WAYMAN1194: 8/5/2015 9:23:41 PMMaybe pre-nerf Skolas, but even that was easy with a Gally. Hardest was Atheon if he wasn't cheesed. If you don't think so go do it with 6 level 29's and 300 weapons. Then Crota because he was so fu*king glitchy. Skolas IMO is the easiest.

How is skolas difficult?????
-
Valus Ta'Aurc pre nerf, the struggle was real

As a level thirty trying to kill atheon for the first time, it was agonizing. A trial you cant expirience again. Knowing you were max level yet it wasnt yet enough. Crota wasn't bad, the lag and glitches were the hardest part. And skolas isn't terrible either, just long.

Atheon, there is very little room for error in that fight. Lose one or two guys, you'll be riding the struggle bus. Skolas would probably the second hardest because his taint ability and the ads. Also, if you lose one guy in that fight, you're going to have a bad time. It's not as bad as Atheon, but it's by no means a breeze. Crota is the easiest one. Sure, when someone dies, you have to destroy the Oversoul and it's pretty strong on hard mode, but it can be taken down. As long your group has rockets, and your swordbearer doesn't die from Boomers or Crota, it's breeze. On hard mode, you can easily two sword Crota. This is my opinion, which I have formulated through my experience with this game. Yours may be different from mine.

Edited by donk2015: 8/4/2015 6:34:31 PMSkolas is dificult, but lots of fun. Just the Skolas encounter. Having to pass the taint (which is always funny to say) while dealing with the adds is fun. And having to deal with the taint and working the mines isnt that bad as long as you play your class correctly and can be really fun. On the other hand, the Pilot Servator SUCKS. It drags the entire Lvl 35 PoE experience down. Just a stupid, not fun, gear check and I hate it. Like killing all the yellow bar knights right before Crota. Piontless and just pads out the encounters length. Edit for spelling.

holy chuffing puffin skolas was so satasfying to kill.

The adds, the poison that you have to deal with, not to mention dealing with the Fallen make Skolas the worst. I would rank Crota as the easiest, then Atheon, then Skolas as the toughest. Atheon is a pain with the teleporting and oracles, but nothing like the jumping around that Skolas does.

Back in its day, atheon was hard unless you knew what you were doing, along with crota. Skolas is in its Era now, but overall doing it at that time I think it was Atheon

This is an interesting question, because the way it's worded it appears the question is "what is currently the hardest boss?" which naturally should be Skolas as it is the most current end-game content. However if we evaluate difficulty based on when it was considered "current end-game" content (Max light level was 30), then I would have to say Atheon, hands down. I sometimes end up in groups of all 34s, and it still ends up taking 30+ mins to kill Atheon and multiple wipes. Somehow people still don't know how to use the relic, or know that you have to shoot oracles when ported, or to throw a grenade when ported to Venus.. the list goes on. And again, I'm talking about the issues that I still see. It was even worse when max attack power was only 300. That said, I think Skolas was pretty tough with arc burn but now that's gone. After the nerf I haven't needed to spend more than 1 or 2 wipes on him. I also feel some of the perceived difficulty comes from there not being a checkpoint before fighting him like there is with the other bosses. Finally, Crota is a joke, always has been. The only "difficulty" I ever have and ever will encounter with that mess of a boss was a result of broken mechanics (disappearing sword, Crota walking around where ever he wants to go, etc.) and lag (causing him to never go down, or stand up immediately after going down).
