If Bungie and Activi$ion announce that year one legendaries and exotics will not have a upgrade path, will you continue to play destiny?
Edit 1: For those who would stay... Imagine having to completely replace your exotic armory. Every exotic would be useless except for PvP.
Edit 2: We are trending! :D
Edit 3: We Broke 1,000! This is my biggest post yet! Thank you all for your input!

I don't think they would've bothered doing the Sept 15 gun nerf if they are to be obsolete.
-
If all the weapons I have spent so much time and materials on to perfect become irrelevant. I will skip TTK. I find the pricing to be excessive and their $20 dance emotes to be downright insulting. I'm pretty close to washing my hands of the bullshit. There's a casino right down the street if I want to play slots anyways.
-
The people that realize there isn't any other game that is as intuitive and mechanically inclined as Destiny don't care....
-
I imagine exotics will still be able to be upgraded legendaries I'm not to sure about though
-
Wheres the IDGAF option....
-
If the best guns are still from vanilla the that is defiantly bad
-
I'm happy to move on. I could use the push to new weapons. Right now I'm just grinding out ELihht to upgrade the old guns I already have instead of grinding for new fresh experience. I love my year 1 guns. All my VoG weapons. All my Crota weapons. My vanquisher. My badger. My efrideet's. They'll always be special. But when the game progresses and my options improve I'll leave every single one of them in the vault. Even if it costs me my gally and my icebreaker and my sweet, sweet red death.

1.) They won't leave exotics behind, Xbox just will have just gotten them so.... 2.) Legendary items should not be upgradeable because because as some people would use new guns a lot would continue the same guns for the full 10 years of destiny, ie fatebringer. It is sort of their fault because they made really good old weapons (fatebringer)so either nerf old weapons I response to new weapons having worse perks or leave them behind. Anyone who has ever played any loot based game knows the loot hamster wheel where new loot comes and makes old loot obsolete. It is a part of all loot based games. I do understand that people want to use the guns they earned but this is the only way in insure that people change with the game itself. Plus they will still be useful in PvP. 3.) If you haven't played a loot based game then I apologize that this is a terrible realization of how they work and may not be your type of games 4.) But I would be ok if they found a way to integrate them as well because I love vision of confluence.

Edited by XMaynee: 7/25/2015 2:56:39 AMThey're adding so many new armor and weapons that will be completely different from the ones now, I'm fine with it
-
Fine with me. I would be extremely excited to get new weapons that are good and not see the same old stuff all the time.
-
I bet you still use a type writer. Hipster.
-
Why would this make you leave?
-
I want to use Fatebringer, black hammer and Gjallarhorn in 2024 because I can't handle change.
-You
-
It would suck yes. Doesn't mean I'm getting rid of them. You never know what might happen. One day they decide to make them legit again and I'll be one of the select few to still have their original shit. I understand why people don't want them to ascend. Weapons like vision and fate are really good for almost anything you do. They have lots of time left so maybe instead of making guns die off they should just make ones that are better or at least equal. I mean come on. Your telling me a hand cannon with firefly and arc is really going to make things one sided? No. I use a variety of weapons as is. In fact every time I play I spend at least 20 minutes trying to decide what combination of things I'm going to use.

Bungie had better keep the upgrades for stuff, because if they don't, more people are going to ditch Destiny! If Bungie wants to kill Destiny, then they will continue to sabotage their own game and they will lose all their players, it's ashamed!
-
I would leave. I rely on them and I will continue due to the fact that most year 2 weapons will probably be in the expansion. Besides. I like my loadout
-
Edited by jakespank83: 7/25/2015 12:45:19 AMI'm okay with guns dying out, but I'm sure that exotic weapons will be upgradable until the very end.
at least they had better be

I can't live without my red death
-
Edited by Garisaan: 7/25/2015 12:40:30 AMThis is par for the course for any MMO-style game, really. New expansions generally means new weapons and armor. That being said, I would like a gun rack to store my wonderful weapons of destructive glory. :)
-
If they are not upgradable that means they are being replaced with better weapons, it goes with the story, we keep advancing and oushing back the darkness, all while learbing more, so we will keep advancing weapons. But on a side note, all exotics should upgrade, all legemdary armor should be able to upgrade and modify, and you can keep x amount of weapons
-
I'll use a 365 FB on Oryx It's still best legendary hand cannon in the game
-
Exotics will not be useless. End of.
-
Improvise, adapt and overcome.

Edited by Bum2879: 7/24/2015 11:59:42 PMWhy the hell would somebody leave because old guns are getting left behind as new ones brought in? The new weapons won't feel or play the same as the old ones that we are used to. That just means we get to have a fresh experience. The damage will still get done and bad guys will still die. We may all feel the need to move on to a different weapon type in order feel competitive but who cares. The game doesn't really change. See something. Shoot something.
-
The 2.0 nerfs are going to completely murder the year 1 weapons to the ground. We should move on in order to lessen the pain of the nerfs. Exotics should DEFINITELY be allowed to continue into year 2
-
Edited by Hopeinmo: 7/24/2015 9:31:20 PMBuild your legend.... so no, will not stay, (as they might as well remove everything from original game if do that...) Since Destiny is so hard on my connection for PvP and laggs even when using decent... And I can find a better PvP focused game, I will have no reason to continue on in Destiny if my collectibles become trophies without a purpose in the PvE portion
-
I would still use my fatebringer I used it in the dark below when it only did 300 damage
