  • Because most of us have spent this whole first year acquiring our arsenal and perfecting it. I'm all for new weapons and different stuff but if all else fails I know my fatebringer won't. Don't get me wrong I enjoy grinding for loot but to make all my progress thus far all for nothing would be total crap.

  • unless you got the bulk of it in the past like 2 months get over it it's going to be a year it's not like you it's being taken down before you got the upgrades for them.

  • Get over it? So the time you've put into this game so far means nothing to you?

  • no it does i use the ever loving piss out of fatebringer, vision i still have my OG vanguard sniper and rocket epitaph and unfriendly giant on top of that i have the rarest sniper in the game the supremacy from the one time queen's wrath. I will miss these weapons, but the VoG primaries are for the most part the pinnacle of there class/archetype which means bungie has to make weapons that can compete with them? so we would see weapons growing in power at a greater rate than if the old guns left behind, this will be better in the long run because now weapons will last longer overall a year is pretty good they have outlasted evolve fatebringer has remain popular longer than a whole other game. I will keep my most precious weapons for as long as possible, but I don't condone punishing new weapons by making them compete in a fixed contest. most people these days have multiple old weapons and love them however no one has the new ones, so now you gotta consider why on earth would i grab a Suros handy candy when i still have a fatebringer or a solar jewel of Osiris or word of crota? There really isn't one let's be honest saying" i will use varied weapons" ya maybe at first but no everyone will and more than that will revert back to the golden oldies. Thanks for making it to the end.

  • I agree with you. Which is why I'm nervous about the transition between year 1 and year 2. Poe weapons left much to be desired and with weapons being nerfed I'm not sure any new weapons can compete. Why grind for new weapons that are at best "meh"?

  • Well seeing how they are putting some depth into how weapons work and how they are obtained perhaps these weapon aren't meh but rather instead of having a broken good set of perks you will have weapons that rely less on perks themselves and more on the guns stats. also funfact- summoner and wolfslayer's claw are almost identical differences being slightly better stability on summoner as well as hammer forged where as claw gets field scout.

  • But perks are what makes the weapon. For example if you take away firefly from fatebringer its just another regular hand cannon. Granted it would still have arc elemental damage but would still lose that "great gun" feel. And that's what poe weapons are missing. I fear the same for future weapons since if you read the changes, they are lowering base stats on all weapons as well as lowering perk stat increases.

  • perks are important true for example suros would be a whole different gun without focus fire, however if it was replaced with say small bore or reinforced barrel the gun would be arguably better than it was in it's prime because of the increased range/stability. the Perks make a large part of the identity of a gun but that really is why they need to change the ways guns work. I should want an auto rifle because i feel it fire fast enough with enough damage and is stable enough to use midrange then afterwords think okay what perks should i look for and from there my gun becomes my gun because the gun feels natural and the perks feel like my set up instead of oh i got a matador better get shot package on it.

  • I agree for the most part. However we can talk about what they "should" do all day. It doesn't change the fact that it's not what we have. From what I have seen, the trend is weaker weapons overall. What I'm afraid of happening is eventually all of our guns being pea shooters. That's no fun for anyone.

  • well the idea i would put fourth is if they truly are removing old weapons they don't factor in anymore, how ever one big change is to make weapons have less to do with adding damage and make them more efficient with the damage the weapon already deals so lower damage weapons can compete in that they are easier to land consistent shot versus weapons that might be more powerful being harder to use effectively where in the current game the most powerful can be made to be easier to use than basically any other weapon. To try and clarify i would say thorn pre-buff versus thorn now thorn was good but it had a trade your damage was strong but your down-time is long so you couldn't carelessly take shots now that trade of is non existent which is a reason why it's so over powered. The new weapons will focus will focus on making sure there is a trade but you can respec the weapon to perform better at mid long as opposed to mid close changing the trading effective at ranges giving you a weakness which is inherently balanced.

  • If that's truly the case then it might keep me interested. I'm thinking you are just too hopeful. Whether or not I buy TTK and continue playing is fully dependent on how they handle these new weapon changes.
