Sadly, I think your predictions are going to accurate with Handcannons. Bungie is going to over do the range, falloff and zoom nerfs, and the magazine nerf will be equally confounding. Handcannons are going to be nerfed to oblivion and join the ranks of my poor beloved Fusion Rifles and the poor state of Auto Rifles currently.

 • Disagree. Bungie broke FRs because they range nerfed them in a way that also damage nerfed them. They broke ARs because they BOTH range nerfed them AND damage nerfed them at the same time. Legendary hand cannons are only being range-nerfed. ...and being nerfed primarly to more sharply define their role in the game from scout rifles. Which has been a problem Bungie has been trying to address since the beta. It was just the reverse of the current situation, during the beta. Scout rifles performed so well, and hand cannons (greens) were so weak with their 5 and 6 round magazines that there was little reason to use them. The result should be a weapon that hits like a large caliber rifle, but otherwise performs like a handgun.

 • Yep hand cannons are about to be useless. Bunige is so incompetent. Other than the shotgun buff. Every single weapon change they have made has made the game worse. I've never seen a company continually get in their own way like Bunige. They actually target the things players like most about their game as the things that need to be removed. They have zero chance of last past year two. Let alone 10 years.

 •
They actually target the things players like most about their game as the things that need to be removed.
I think it's because they originally fashioned a robot to patch the game at launch. This robot was meant to curb anomalies and unintentional bugs that break the game's physics engine. It became somewhat stressed at launch as it tried to contain all the server connection errors. Bungie then made the mistake of tasking the robot with tweaking Master Rahool's engram loot table. Rahool's insidious code corrupted the robot entirely, and the only way it could stop from imploding was to fragment it's operating sessions within every server connection error and assign each error an identity shared with an animal. Basically.. the robot has multiple personality disorder, and all of those personalities are evil animals. Now, the robot considers the laughter of humans to be an anomaly that must be squashed. The only way to do so is to seek and destroy the source of the fun. Bungie has been hush about the bot for obvious reasons. Unfortunately, they still can't deactivate the bot because Master Rahool's insidious AI code became sentient and overloaded the bot. As a last effective sub routine the robot was able to contain Rahool within it's malicious zoo of personalities. Rahool, of course, not to be outdone deactivated all of the robots fail safes before spreading malicious intent routines to all of the zoo personalities before being smothered to a standstill deep within the redundant personality code. Bungie is unable to remote deactivate the bot without the fail safes. However, they also can't do a local hardwire shut down for fear of allowing Rahool an escape route. Therefore, we are doomed to suffer the robots perplexing and confounding pattern of continually buffing and nerfing weapons in an endless cycle as it complicates and curbs any fun that anyone manages to find left in Destiny. All of our training in destiny is actually for a final showdown within this robot in Destiny's final expansion, titled, Rahool above the Skynet.
