Pvp has become a lagging joke
I've gone 9-0, but for most, it's impossible. I'm not gonna say get better if you haven't done it, i say good luck.. You're gonna need it. It's not even bc of dealing with final round snipers or teams of 3 thorns, it's the honest lag &, even worse, the rampant lag switchers. It's been horrible since trials started, and gone beyond ridiculous in the last month. So, I'm likely never going to play trials again, it's not worth the gun and an exotic emblem. I know bc I've done it, sadly, I'll likely never try again. Pvp is a lagging, lag switching joke, selfish players have made sure of it.

5 RepliesForgot to mention how much lag switching is ruining the fun i used to have in iron banner. For those who don't know; lag switching is a player/team that slows their router to get easy wins. Example: my team holds 2 zones and 2k point lead by 1st heavy drop, then opposing team lags, catches all 3 zones and starts leading by 4k. The lag then stops once they get a comfortable lead. It's lazy, cheating, annoying, selfish behavior. #Bungie #Activision needs to beef servers and kick players who drop below a certain level of connectivity. Done playing trials, almost as fed up with iron banner and pvp altogether.

Getting shotgunned from half a mile away (no, seriously, half a fecking mile, no exaggeration), unloading an ENTIRE 72-round heavy machine gun into someone's back as they try to walk away and not even a scratch. I counted SEVENTEEN players during this week's Iron Banner alone who walked right into, and through, my Nova Bomb completely unscathed. Emptying a full-auto shotgun into an AFC's face, melee them twice, jump back and drop a grenade in their shorts: half the white bar gone. They finally "wake up" and let off two rounds from their "bullet-hose" Auto Rifle (the high rate of fire, next to nothing impact variants) and you're gone. Getting PDE'd (Persistent Damage Effect, i.e. Thorn and certain warlock and hunter abilities) by literally EVERYTHING. Or the simple fact that two shots from ANY hand-cannon wielded by ANY other player kills me, and yet half a dozen (or more) headshots from Thorn, Last Word, Word of Crota, or really any hand cannon in my inventory and I"m lucky if they're in the red. Like you said, it's not a matter of "get better." At this point it's more like "-blam!- it and get a different game, because this one's had it."

2 RepliesI played a lot of IB last week and noticed a bit of lag but not to the extent that people on the forums claim there is. Its not unplayable. In fact I had a great time with IB. Maybe its players Internet connections that have some affect on PvP. I've played with people who use Wifi and bitch that Bungie need to fix their game. That's ridiculous.

2 RepliesIn a weird way I'm happy you're not going to do the trials again. Only because the best I've done is 5 wins. I will say I have encountered some lag switcher and it definitely ruins the fun when you know people are cheating. I understand some guns are op and I'm ok with that. Use them or lose them. These games are Always going to have a " best gun" (fusions, vex, suros). But lag switching is brutal.

1 ReplyPlayed IB most of last night and into this morning, although the lag switchers were about during the week the extent over the last 12hrs has been absurd. Also the 'level advantages enabled' is bull, I got slain several times by a sub lv25 with a rare auto with only a cpl of body shots (got him several times too so I know they were not switching) again this could be down to lag but there is so much wrong with the PvP element it should be embarrassing for Bungie.. & no I'm not good but do have over 18years of PvP experience, mostly on PC so I do have a wealth of comparison experience ...

4 RepliesToo bad for you they aren't going to fix PVP you see Activision has a billion dollar game aka World of Warcraft after revealing Destinty to Activision, they istantly told Bungie to divide the game into ten parts and to use P2P servers. Basically Bungie has no excuse for not monitoring their game because all ten years are already made and if they aren't then I really don't wanna see what they can do in a year, when it took them six years to make a half a year of content. The multiplayer is in pre-alpha mode and they aren't going to fix the balancing or bad networking. It seems like Bungie wouldn't care if all that was in multiplayer was dial up and thorns and last words. They don't care about you let alone their customers and they go out of their way to show how much they hate Xbox players by ripping them off and making them pay the same price just to get it a year later. Face it Bungie will never be the Bungie that made Halo One ever again they don't have that ambition anymore and they are no longer gamers it's all about the money with them.

Ya at this point I just want to try for some fixed games so that I can get some pve gear. I am not going to try and waste my time dealing with lag while trying to go flawless.

2 RepliesThe only reason to do ToO is for the rewards which are unfortunately and by design the only way to get a good elemental PVE weapon. Yep, and they put it in a PVP event as to taunt PVE players even more. Fortunately there is the Fang and VoC but this was just evil in design. Oh, and lets give the PoE weapons shank burn and dreg burn to add insult to injury.

5 RepliesSilly thing is, is that if bungie puts IB and ToO on dedicated servers, lag would be relatively low. Lag switchers, host booting, and other assorted cheats that are accessible through Peer-to-Peer connection would be non-existent. Getting DDOS'ed is still possible because they attack your router with mass amount of junk data. I just wish Bungie at least rubbed a couple brain cells together in that blob of meat they consider a brain to understood that dedi's would be needed to prevent such methods of cheating. Though alas, that is not the case.
