People keep talking about the level disadvantage but I think they are missing the point of it. Skolas isn't being made harder by the level disadvantage. They could have made him level 34 but have more health and hit harder and get the same result. The reason he is level 35 is so that he becomes much easier once you get top 35+ light level.

...you're aware that we can only hit level 34, right?
-
Well there are expansions coming up soon that will raise the level cap (I.e. The Taken King), so even though I don't think that Skolas is 35 for that reason, I can see where he's coming from.
-
I get his argument, for want of a nail and all that, but here and now. 34's as good as we guardians get. "It's cool because we'll be able to go above 35 soon." is a moot argument.

The argument is not moot at all. Look at VoG for example. People still have a very hard time with it despite being level 34. Why is that? Because once you are level 30, that content is pretty much frozen in terms of difficulty. The content is difficult when you were max level while the content was current and is still just as difficult now that people are overgeared. Now look at Crota's End. That raid is a joke now that people are overgeared so carrying people through is much easier and thus more people can experience the content. Why is that? Because they used light level in setting a benchmark for the difficulty. Now that people are overgeared, the light level mechanic makes the fight considerably easier. The light levels aren't there to make things artificially difficult now. The light levels are used to make the content more accessible down the road.

VoG's difficulty compared to Crota has to do with the fact that VoG isn't nearly as glitchy and is ridiculously more complex than the Crota raid. People were soloing Crota before House of Wolves. People are still soloing it now, now they're just doing it faster. Crota's a strike compared to Vault. That being said. The only reason why I don't give weight to your "it'll get easier when you're above 35" argument is simply that this isn't September of 2015. TTK hasn't launched. That time of 35+ Guardians running around is not now. Til then, we're still talking in theory. And even then, level advantage/disadvantage aside, the Skolas fight by itself is more complex than half the Crota raid. I'm willing to bet there could be 39s or 40s that still struggle/can't finish it. It's understandably the biggest endgame challenge in this game right now.

Do you not understand how light levels work? It is not theory, it is fact. When people get to 35+, they will do significantly more damage to Skolas. I don't see why that is so difficult to understand. Anyways, further discussing this with you is clearly a waste of time seeing as your don't have the aptitude for understanding simple concepts. MUTED for idiocy.
