I actually love the Skolas encounter (post nerf). It's some of the most fun I've had in this game.

Do you play with the same people who are of equal skill all the time?

Admittedly, yes. I can see your point with it being difficult completing it with people of different skill levels (not impossible, but more difficult). It's a tough call though, at the same time, this needs to be the equivalent of the hard mode raid, so you want it to be challenging. I think it is a perfect challenge as it is now (perhaps more so for people who are used to playing together and of similar skill), however, if it were any easier, it really wouldn't be "hard mode" for those who play together regularly. I think the majority of people also do play with friends of similar ability. At the same time, it's a lot more difficult for the more disparate teams. So, how do you appease the masses? All in all, I think it's much better now than it was pre-nerf, that's for sure.

I agree that it's better now after the patch. As I said in the OP, Vault of Glass hard was (and in some ways still is) challenging, requiring teamwork, communication, and skill. However, Vault of Glass was always fun, and to me never felt tedious or cheap. I'm totally fine with a hard raid level activity, but you shouldn't have to be a pro with a pro level team to complete something.

Edited by N7 Spectre MD: 6/26/2015 6:01:30 PMI like that Skolas requires strong teamwork. As opposed to having just one sword bearer, or one person carry the relic in VoG. Perhaps change approach? See what went wrong in previous attempts. Think of the makeup of the team. I know you're not new and I'm sure you've tried this. I'm just offering some suggestions. I know that some teams will have a lot more trouble with this, as I'm sure some teams did with VoG and CE as well. Many teams have failed before becoming proficient in the mechanics required. Think of how rewarding it will be to complete the challenge with that particular team. I think the key for our team is constant communication. "Who has the sickness, how much time left? who's taking it next." There were also times when one person would go down, and we'd manage by doing a quick lap around the arena. Yes, that may mean a wipe if you're not able to revive them in time to pass the mark to them, but it is doable. Best of luck guardian!
