I actually loooove the Skolas encounter. To me, it is hands down, far and away, the most fun activity in destiny. It's so intense! Everyone needs to be constantly communicating, and your strategy changes a bit with each team, and I love the process of figuring out a system that works well for every player in your team. Each person has to carry their own weight. To me, it's the only battle that feels like a real battle! It's truly formidable, but also very manageable if you get a decent team and solid communication going around. Like you said, trying the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is insane though. Try switching it up a bit. Before you take him below 50% to activate the mines, make sure everyone is alive, ads are killed, and everyone has supers. When the mines come, send the immune person across the map to get the mine on the other side. The tainted guy and the non-immune guy need to sick together so they can trade off poison. The non-immune guy is the VIP. It is his job to stay alive no matter what, because if he dies, everything can spiral out of control. For the middle mine spawn, either send a hunter or use a Titan bubble up there. And have at least one person on your team running with a shotgun to take care of any ambushing captains.
