Crota and atheon see us as insects why would they communicate with us other than attempting to kill us? Also Atheon looks drastically different than any minotaur (have you even seen him before?) the only similarities are how he walks and his basic build. And now Crota, crota is part of the hive species. He was born from Oryx and made in Oryx's image. Originally Crota looked like most other knights but after he was killed his soul survived. After we banished his soul he could only exist in his realm. So we went down there and destroyed what was left.

Why do we destroy him so weak though

Well we did kill him with his own sword. Let me explain. Crota in his dimension had a sword but it was an extension of his soul. His actual sword was held by the swordbearer. (This is also why there is only one swordbearer at a time). After a swordbearer is killed the sword will go to the only place it can stay, another swordbearer.

Why doesn't the swordbearer just hide in his little home?

Why do we kill then at all? All we did is act on something from a cutscene. We have literally no story on why we should kill them other than the fact that someone told us to. A cutscene to explain why would be nice but alas there is not

It is quite obvious, in the grimore when we first went to the moon in an attempt to take it back we sent hundreds of guardians but they were slaughtered by crota. Not to mention that in the story we find out that the hive planned to invade earth, also that they have helped the darkness take thousands of worlds. They are monsters and the only way to for sure put a stop to there plans is to kill the one controlling them

I bought a game to play games. Not read shitty little cards on some website about shit I don't even care about. They should put in the [i]effort[/i] to make me care enough to read the 'lore' but alas they don't even do that

You really don't have to, it was still explained by ghost during the story mode. All you had to do was listen.

It is pretty dumb killing crota when you know his dad will come after you and he is much more powerful than poor weak crota
