Then why play it? It's already kinda weird that the best elemental primaries can only be gotten from Trials. They put the best PvE gear in a PvP game mode so people are doing desperate shit to get it.

Because you can move up tiers as you get better for better rewards, they are only good PVP weapons anyways. Why play sports why don't we call it a tie before every game and everyone can hold hands. No challenge, no fun.
