Trials of Hate

Because of my age (56) my reaction times are at bit slower than most young people (for thos who will say "git gud", for me would mean "get young again"). But I love all the team activities in Destiny and usually have no problem finding decent teams on LFG sites. Although I prefer matchmaking, why leave a game to do somethinig that should in game anyway. This weekend finished IB rank 5, PoE 34, NF, weekly and had a go at ToO. That was a huge mistake. LFG site had a ToO casual section, but if these were casuals I was matched with I fear for the attitude of the professionals. It took literally only 10 minutes before I was yelled at and people leaving the game because they died. For all clarity, I DID NOT DIE. But somehow their death was my fault. I was flabbergasted by the hate that goes around in ToO. I think Bungie made a huge mistake with ToO and not having matchmaking. LFG for ToO sucks hardtime, only the best of the best find teams. I underdtand, in a 3-man team it much more difficult to have a casual player than in a 6-man team. Result is that I am locked out of ToO without matchmaking. I donot understand why it is not their, the professional do not have to play with me. They can stil make their elite teams in LFG and enter ToO. Like baseball, not everybody is MLB level, but many like the game and want to play. Bungie, you have social gaming high in your list of things we as a community need to do. But you are promoting the opposite: you are promoting ultimate competition leading to hate, discrimination and elitism. By the way, th elitists get rewarded with endless etheric light. take one character and you can do as many ToO games as you like and every time get awarded with etheric light. I can only do NF and PoE34 ONCE a week. Good luck with this Bungie, I am sure that 1% of the players is extremely happy, you can find them all in the lighthouse. Go there to and togeteher you can look from your ivory tower to the grinders of the Destiny world struggling for a liitle reward but RNG usually denies that But nobody probably cares.

The first week of House of Wolves, the Trials of Osiris seen a lot of tourism. "Oh look something new, let's try it." Big mistake. Still though, some mediocre teams were able to see the Lighthouse that week, because they were pooling from an extensive amount of players whose skills weren't at the same level, or they cheated. The second week, those mediocre teams meet some heavier resistance because they didn't have a large pool of tourist to beat up on. Still though, some mediocre teams weeded out other mediocre teams and were able to advance by the skin of their teeth. Those players who didn't see the Lighthouse the 2nd go around were disillusioned. The third week, there's nothing but advanced teams punishing tourist and mediocre teams. Bungie has effectively created a instance that is a pariah to most of their players by only allowing the elite reward, that were once reserved for successful raiders. In order to advance, players must impede others from advancing, were as before it was us versus the game world. This is creating a massive exodus away from Destiny altogether. In order to keep players, Bungie must revamp the POE, introduce a raid, and give players something other to do than push each other down. It won't happen anytime soon.
