This is what's gonna happen:
Most ppl have no chance of going 9 & 0 so playing legit and losing or backing out and risking a ban from ToO ultimately ends in the same place, with no high end gear. Its like making suicide a crime and punishable by death.
The end result is still the same - no high end gear. It's not going to stop anyone doing it and as long as the other team get a win for the opponents cowardice I don't see an issue.
Eventually as more and more ppl realise they will either get banned or just get beaten they will stop play ToO altogether and it will become a niche little exclusive clique simply for high end pvpers which will dwindle and die.
Games in which the end user pays for content are meant to a be a challenge but also the end goal ultimately achievable with hard work.
I see little point in pairing 3 average players who've have had to work their butt off to get 4 wins against 3 multiple flawless ppl. It's no challenge for the flawless guys and nigh on impossible for the others.
Some form of competitive matchmaking is needed or trials will quickly die.
In addition once you have got a character to the light house entrance to the trials should be revoked on that guardian

Agreed.

Edited by MysticBlueWolf: 6/6/2015 9:53:32 AMThe lighthouse is "supposed" to be for the most skilled players. Not every one is meant to get there the soon you guys see that the better. I play long after i make it to the lighthouse on the same character so i can stop non-worthy people for seeing it.

Sometimes its not stats that make you a scrub, sometimes its your attitude. Judging by your response you must be royalty in the scrub world.
-
A scrub that can make it to the lighthouse legit
-
A scrub that can make it to the lighthouse legit
I seriously just LOL'd over here....sir, I'm happy for you that you're greatest accomplishment in life is "guarding" a fictional place in a video game from lesser skilled players that actually have lives. we need more people like this guy in the world. He is a shining example of what we all should strive to be. The bar he has set...well we should all pray to even be allowed to glance upon it, let alone dream of reaching it.

So you say but this is online & theres no way for anyone to determine whether you've lagswitched or Qio so your comment is invalid.

Last time i cheated in a game was in Halo 2 and i got xbox live ban for 2 weeks where i couldnt even sign in to live and play. These kids getting a ToO ban are lucky they dont that to them.Cheating is not worth losing a account over

Edited by Mighty Joe: 6/6/2015 10:36:00 AM
Last time i cheated in a game was in Halo 2
Do you see the problem here?^^^^^ You have now admitted to cheating which makes any valid argument that you make.. into an invalid one. By admitting you cheated before, you've made it so no one can believe anything you say.
-
Do you really think i will risk as account i have had for years on something stupid as cheating again? when im good enough to play legit.
-
Fair play to you if thats how you play now, but you do see what i mean, right?
-
And how long will those elite tryhards keep playing it when they don't have the lesser, average players to stomp on to get to the Lighthouse? Think they'll be content only playing other equally skilled teams? Hell no.
-
i got to the lighthouse over hard matches and easy matches about 8 times now. ideally i LOOOVE matches when its like 4-4, thats when the clutching gets real. and its extremely more satisfying. why does doing VoG and Crota feel crappy now? because theres been so many guides and we're overleveled. you thinking every skilled player are chickens who don't wanna fight eachother, we do. but if its gunna be skilled based and not this rng connection, then i want better rewards because the rewards sucks :/
-
And all that will happen is that ppl will stop playing and it will be elitist vs elitist.
-
Good my ToO group needs a challenge
-
-
Agree...

Bump the intelligent post (and this comes from somebody who has gone flawless).
-
Maybe the people backing out just need to practice and upgrade their stuff. What you are talking about is giving everyone a trophy vs giving those who deserve it the ones that have strategies and fully upgraded gear that complements each other's stats.
-
On the inverse of that, by not separating the Lighthousers from the general public to let them fight each other (i.e. an actual "who's the best of the best" contest), you're basically promoting heavily one-sided PvP. These are teams that have already been awarded the highest-end PvP gear in the game, turned loose on the general populace with this game's complete lack of skill-based matchmaking. It's like you just won a cage-match, and the reward for that cage-match is free steroids and you get to go hop on a school-bus full of retarded kids and kick their asses. :P While I don't agree with OP's level of saltiness, I do agree with people that Trials isn't going to last very long if it continues on this path.
-
the trials weapon , the OOONLY REALLY good one, is the messenger. and the flawless version 's only difference than a regular one you get from trial's package rewards is a element, which does nothing in pvp. there are MANY MANY MANY guns that outclass the trials gear....
-
Yeah... the more I see the stats on these things, the less impressed by them. :/
-
-
This is spot on. You listening Bungie???
-
Absolutely perfectly said. Bump and bump.
