They are referring to a cheese teams are using to back out of a game while your ship is flying in which does not give you a loss. I believe it gives the other team a win but occasionally gives them a loss. This is what they want to avoid.

If that's the situation, I may have misunderstood some of what they were saying, but I think the net sum is still that they're trying to nurture a means to penalize people who give up and are sick of getting their asses kicked. Kicking guys while they're down already isn't something I can support.

There is a bug that occurs sometimes when an opponent team leaves during the transition. The team that stayed can get split up into two teams 2 vs 1. This makes at least one of the players to take 1 loss even though they are in the same fireteam and the opposing team left. This awful when you get hit by it.

First, I agree that this is an absolute ball banging (or female equivalent) for the side that stays. But if this is why they are suggesting they will ban the people that bowed out - as a means of sidestepping a broken issue in lieu of fixing the actual problem - then that is rediculous.

Well the spirit of the event is a tournament environment. If you go into a tournament can you not show up if you think your opponents are too good and have no consequence? Also, you are not getting banned. You get a suspension from ToO.
