There are tons of weapons that will take down multiple red bar enemies in one shot. Even some rare rockets will do that (maybe not in PoE without a burn). Low grade enemies (thralls, dregs, so on) are easily taken down by any weapon. Knights and Captains can be taken down by a primary in only a few shots.
Your comparison isn't really useful. I don't mean any ill will towards you but its just not valid to use when trying to show that the Ghorn does more damage.

But not ANY was my only point. I wasn't trying to prove Ghorn does more damage, just saying "i've rarely seen it NOT do what it's intended to do" lol. Personally, I only ever select 2 weapons that match the burn and one alternate during Nightfalls and such. The main reason for this is the random shield factor. Even this week's nightfall is arc burn, but towards the end there are shanks with solar shields. A smart player has a solar weapon handy for that part. Imo, it makes sense to run arc primary, arc special, and solar heavy for a arcburn nightfall.

I got ya. Also, I do the same because of shields. Take them down then hit them with whatever burn is active since I don't have a Ghorn.

Yeah all those weapons can do that. But none of them do it as efficient and over such a wide area as ghorn does. Thats the point. It can clear widespread groups and melts bosses, with or without burn. On arc burn, i mostly run thunderlord, bht sometimes a ghorn is still more useful as you can utilize cover a lot better with a rocket.
