Penalties for quitters in crucible

When you're playing crucible and 3 people leave right in the middle of it, because they're getting their asses handed to them, should receive some type of penalty for rage quitting and screwing their entire team. Such BS you butt hurt losers ditch out and leave us who stay to fight an entire team 6 v 2. Quit being a little bitch and play through the whole game.

  • 1st offense - 1 thumb severed off, as to which one is your choice. Your severed thumb is then put on ice. 2nd offense - Your thumb is taken off ice and blended into a smoothie which is then force fed to you while a circus clown zaps your scrotum with a cattle prod. 3rd offense - Said clown is actually a drag queen who enjoys male company, you will become his indentured servant for a minimum of 3 years.
There should be no penalty....
• Agreed. You quit in the middle of a match, 2 day ban from anything outside the tower. Second offense, 1 week ban. Third offense 1 year ban.

        • Was playing last night, doing pretty good as well. Then everything froze, lights flickered, and there was a power outage. :/ you want me to be punished for something I couldn't control?

          • How about the people that need to leave because they got the worst message in their lives... CONTACTING DESTINY SERVERS Or how about because they need to go to the tower because their friend showed up?

              • No penalties. I leave matches because when I play solo and I see that everyone on my team has 0-.8 k/d and the score is already out of reach and the obliteration is going to continue, I'm out

              • When things like the Thorn bounty are tied to Crucible, bounties that penalize deaths, heck yeah people are going to leave. When connections are so bad the lag makes killing players impossible, heck yeah people are going to leave. When matches are so unevenly balanced one team immediately begins trouncing the other without hope of redress, heck yeah people are going to leave. That's just a few of the reasons, of course, and that only includes intended departures. Life emergencies, disconnects, etc. would also be included. Crucible is a competitive player mode where good sportsmanship is practically non-existent. Many players have the goal of forcing the other team to rage quit. Teabagging and in-game taunts through messaging are normal. Heck yeah people are going to leave.

                • I can completely understand your frustration as it happens a lot. The thing is if I enter a laggy game, I'll give it a minute or two if it doesn't get better I'm returning to orbit and searching for a new game. I don't think you should be penalised for wanting to play a lag free game....if there is such a thing.

                • I said this same thing before and a lot of people were like hell no. There should be a penalty for leaving strikes/crucible early. Maybe marks or a hit to your faction rank. Bungie obviously would have to figure out a way to determine if it was a lost connection or someone quitting. I know things happen which is why this should only happen to repeat offenders.

                • If youre playing for bounties... And you just completed the void thorn portion of the bounty for instance... Why would you stay?

                  • I rarely quit but when I do it's because I'm on a team of absolute morons. If I'm in a control match and I'm the only person trying to cap points I'll leave. If we capped B and C and the idiots try to cap A switching the spawn and spawning enemies behind me rather then holding down the objectives I worked so hard to cap and defend I'll leave because usually that will cost us the game we were otherwise winning until that point. If I'm always finding myself alone and getting mowed down by the whole enemy team because everyone is spread out all over the map because they don't know how to work together I'll leave. If I'm watching the whole team get mowed down by heavy weapons and gjallahorns because one idiot couldn't wait 3 second for me and the two other guys running up so we could get some heavy ammo too (especially with no enemies on the radar) I'll leave. The only reason that's justifiable is if the enemy is rushing up and you know you can't take them because you are alone and you need to at least deny them that ammo. If the entire enemy team is rocking their thorns, gjally's, hawkmoons, and felwinters in their raid pajamas and is annihilating our team of level 20s. I'll leave. I don't need to carry you. I don't mind losing. I mind being on teams that don't know how to play. The moral of the story kids get better and people won't leave your matches. Most people don't care if we lose or have a negative KDR but we want it to at least be a good fight not just feeding the other team kills. Play as a team work together stick with the pack. Two guns on a target is always better then 1, 3-4 is alway better spread them out though that way someone survives the super and picks off that attacker. Focus on two points in control only after you get a substantial lead do you start thinking about locking all of them down. Stay on the points the only reason you should leave it is if the other point starts going down and you need to go support and cleanup over their then go right back to where you were. Remember you aren't just capturing points you are capturing spawns. You'll only need two and then they have to come get them and you'll know where the are coming from, fish in a barrel. These thing will help keep people in your matches. Not only that it'll make you a better player. Honestly though I'm so sick of being on teams who don't know how to run control that I'm pretty sure I'm going to be doing clash exclusively now. You're welcome now don't ever make me quit again.

                    • Yes and no. Hate when you join a game where the opposing team just keeps spawn killing. Like to the point were your dead before your feet hit the ground. Any PvP player would leave on that account. That's just not a match.

                    • I'm all for the penalty as long as they no longer allow joining in progress.

                    • Exotic bounties being ruined is a reason to leave......especially by players like me who are only in the Crucible to begin with because of having a crack at exotic bounties. If it takes me 10 games to get three quarters of the way through an exotic bounty, and then on the 11th game I'm up against people who can one shot me from miles away because they are so damn good and my exotic bounty progress is basically being erased, I will leave that particular match because it's taken me alot of time and patience to gather the points to begin with, and I don't want to have to start again because I had the misfortune of being put against seasoned pro's. If there was a crucible for the good players like you guys and a separate one for pvp rookies like me, then you guys would have the competition you are after without having us rookies drag down your precious k/d rate, and we rookies could scrap it out amongst ourselves to get bounties done and get practice in before trying to join you good players.

                    • It's like the people who die during a strike and then quit because they can't get their Walking Tall bounty.

                      • I'd rather them leave. Ive been in more than a few games where the baddies leave, and get replaced by better players and we make a comeback.
