Why does everyone love the LDR 5001??
I like it, it's a great sniper, but why does everyone love it so much?!
[b]Edit 1[/b] Wow seems that a lot of people are saying it's because of the aim assist... I agree it has a very high standard aim assist for its class. But I usually go with her benevolence because mine has better perks.

mine has double down and field scout...it also has a good ratio of recoil to fire rate, combined with the aim assist...its just feels good. [spoiler]It also has final round, but lets ignore that[/spoiler]

5 RepliesI never had a vendor LDR but I had a Longbow and I don't like using anything else anymore. LDR had beast rolls considering! I've used a lot of different snipers, if you like headshots and have 4 minutes spare give this a quick watch, few dirty sniper kills in there :) http://youtu.be/vbboziCnzLI

I like my LDR, just seems to aim well, though I did ascend my Longbow Synthesis first as I slightly prefer that, could just be the perks though. They are both my go to snipers on my hunter and titan respectively, use Praedyths Revenge on my Warlock. I much prefer all these to Blackhammer and Icebreaker, except maybe in extremely specific fights like Fallen Walkers.

Other than having perks you can't get anymore idk why. It has the same impact as Her Benevolance.

1 Replyfor me it is the recoil pattern of the LDR, it is very predictable and feels very smooth. Her benevolence goes all over the place and its sights dont reset really to starting point, so i have to adjust after every shot. With LDR i can just wait until the sight drops down after its kick in a smooth straight line. The only sniper that is even smoother is the Longbow as its kick is a little circle, but mine doesnt have armour piercing rounds, thats why i prefer the LDR. its the overall handling of it, impact is high enough, not to low, not too high, fire rate is good, i dont like efrideets spear as its just to slow for me, i like preadyths but it just has not enough impact. I wish i had more LDRs but i never had a lucky drop, so i roll with the old vendor version. All new sniper just dont "feel" the same as the old ones. I just recently got eye of sol and i dont like it much so far, its fast firing but the sighst dont reset at all, it kicks up and stays there, so i need to adjust a lot in a short time. shadow of veils does feel very similar to LDR but the aim assist is extremly high, which throws me off a bit.

Longbow can roll better. That's why... Originally speaking, it could be bought straight from the vanguard with those AP rounds. This was what caused the initial fuss on it.

2 RepliesIt hardly has any aim assist. You can put a bullet on the left side of their head with ldr and not get a crit. Use her benevolence or shadow of veils and you can put a shot on their chest and get a crit.

I have one with double down and firefly. Arc Spawn with 12 shots in crucible and I love the satisfying explosion with each shot. Got another with Void firefly and unflinching. Just wanted another one

Unless you got a really great roll, benevolence is better. I don't know why people wre so up its butt right now but before how came about and after the ap rounds nerf nobody gave a shit about it. I deleted it after how came out

I have three, one of each damage type. Two with unflinching and ambush scope, the other has short gaze and quick draw. I haven't been using them much lately because I've been using no land beyond but I love the feel.

I still use it almost exclusively when I snipe...but the REAL enjoyment came when it was new. I'd hit a person with Thorn, watch them hide behind something then snipe the numbers through the wall to finish them off. Fun times!
