Go read Ready Player One. It's a pure orgy of 80's pop culture references. Family Ties, John Hughes movies, coin op arcade games, text-based MUDs, Knight Rider... It's a brilliant read. And any self-respecting geek who grew up in the 80's needs badly to read it.
