I own both systems (PS4 and Xbox 1) and having both works well for me. Do I have a favorite? Nope. They are good and bad in their own ways. Hardware, the PS4 is better, but when it comes to games, it will depend on the type of games you enjoy when it comes to exclusives. On a cross platform game, PS4 has a slight edge of graphics, but it's minimal and you'll be hard pressed to notice the difference. Xbox user interface is NOT user friendly. It's a mess and you can't even send voice messages. Menus open slowly and are generally unresponsive. I do prefer the Xbox controller over the Playstation's. Ultimately, owning both is the best thing, makes it easy to rent games, test demos and get the ultimate free game packages (Xbox is seriously lacking in the free content department).
