Problem & Solution: Year 1 Legendary Weapon Infusion, A new journey, weapon diversity, all while keeping us entertained!

Year 1 'Legacy' Weapon Infusion Requirements [Raid/Exotic/Vendor Weapons]: • 8,000 Glimmer • 10x Motes of Light • 50x Planetary Materials (Same material already designated to upgrade nodes.) • 50x Weapon Parts • 5x Ammo Syths (Primary, Special, or Heavy dependent on weapon type.) Allow the Gunsmith to upgrade any equipped Year 1 'Legacy' Legendary weapon, to allow for Year 2 infusion. Optionally made available upon completion of a simple single quest. The upgrade per weapon should require a grind of epic proportions, but this will none-the-less feel like a grand journey, and simultaneously prevents the Destiny world from being flooded with Year 1 weapon archetypes overnight. Once the upgrade materials requirement has been met, your Year 1 'Legacy' Legendary weapon could then be Infused up to the maximum 320 Light, Year 2 value. How about Year 1 Raid weapons? Exact same formula, but include the need for an additional 15x glimmer consumable (dependent on Raid race; Example: Vault of Glass Raid Weapon = 15x Blue Polyphage). And Year 1 Raid Exotics? Same formula, but add the need for an additional 3x Exotic shards, per weapon. Why is this a win for us?: We could now continue our Destiny journey with the weapons we grew partial to in Year 1. It adds weapon diversity in-game, expands the loot pool, and gives us something more to work/grind towards. Completing said task for a weapon would feel like a grand journey, well worth the reward in the end. Best of all its completely optional, and we all LOVE options! Why is this a win for Bungie?: You'll find rejuvenated players revisiting completed missions, participating in more dailies, and out on patrols scavenging materials while pausing to participate in public events. You'd be keeping your veterans happy and content while gauging the interest from those players that have temporarily left the Destiny world for another game. New players can also take part... see next entry below... Additionally, this could be seemingly simple to implement as all economies, resources, and Y1 weapons are already in-game. Want to further this initiative?: Allow the Cryptarch to sell Year 1 Legendary Weapon engrams. Make them economical, around the 15-30 Legendary Mark range. This way new players can participate too! This also gives the vets another shot at their favorite weapon, but with a different roll... looking at you guys Shadow Price and Y-09 Longbow Synthesis ;) TL;DR: -Complete an optional Gunsmith Quest to enable Legacy [Year 1] Legendary weapon infusion, account wide. -Upgrade path is exhausting, but achievable for both vets and new players alike. An epic journey within itself. -Allow infusion for all Legacy [Year 1] weapons, to include Year 1 Raid Legendary's & Exotics. -Allow the Cryptarch to sell Legacy [Year 1] engrams at an affordable (marks) fee; these are decrypted @ Year 1 values. -You've now expanded the Weapon pool, and diversified weapons in both PvE and PvP formats, with minimal effort. -Win/Win

 • Hello, I'm just here to voice my opinion. So please here me out before you say anything back. I do believe why your trying to suggest this idea. But if we could infuse year one weapons so we could use them in year two. We would run into the same problem we had in House of Wolves. People would mainly use the OP year one weapons such as Fatebringer and G-horn in Pve and with the handcannon buff in the latest update SPECIFICALLY ON THORN. Then PvP would be in chaos once again. I hope you understand my opinion and I understand yours aswell. I just believe that if we had year one legendary weapons in year two. The game would lose its whole point of grinding for gear and RNG.
