Using supers out of panic
So there's something that has irritated me ever since I downloaded the destiny app and started browsing the forums. This would be all the posts about "fist of panic", "panic pistol", etc. one thing people tend to forget when writing these posts is the composition of the other team. By the time you have your first super up, you have had a decent amount of time to evaluate the opposition. If I have noticed that they are a team that tends to run together, I will save my super to use on more than one person but, if they are a team full of independent players that run around individually, why not use it to save yourself against a single player? You may never get an opportunity to take out more than one opponent and the sooner you use your super, the sooner you can get your next one. This isn't "panicking." This is analyzing your competition and making the wisest decision. I'm not saying that this is everyone's thought process because there are definitely players that use their super in a moment of panic. What I am saying is that not all players are using these supers as a crutch. If you have made it this far, thank you for listening to my rant. A bump would be appreciated to spread this information.
Edit 1: thanks for the feedback everyone! Almost 100 replies! Lots of differing opinions here and lots of good points. One glaring exception to my above argument is control. I feel you should pretty much always be able to get more than one kill per super in a control match. Also, I feel the need to clarify that I am not saying that all players that only kill one opponent with their super are "highly analytical and tactical" crucible contenders. Some people definitely use there super to save their ass in a moment of panic! My major point here is that there is a difference between a panic super and a calculated super!

1 ReplyI had a Warlock and a Titan both use their supers on me at once, when I was by myself capturing a control point... I can see why some people do it, but that was just stupid

5 RepliesUse supers on one guy to keep a killstreak alive. We all know how long you have to stay alive to keep a killstreak of 10 or 15 going. The map is bound to be littered with orbs if you've stayed alive for that long.

3 RepliesI do the opposite, I always try to wait for big groups like a spawn or a point on control, sometimes I forget to use it altogether lol but if someone wants to panic super me I don't care, you wasted a super on little old me!

1 ReplyPersonally, I only ever "panic super" when I'm in a mosh pit of enemy players in crucible because I made a wrong turn. So many times have I rushed into B at Firebase Delphi, Mars, seen the entire team trying to capture, and then nearly pooping my pants as I super. Usually clears the room when I'm on my Voidwalker. :p

1 ReplyI try to save my super for hitting multiple enemies in PvP, but there have also been times that I've sat on it so long that I've never used it. So I'll admit, there have been quite a number of times that I've hit it on a single enemy just because that is all that was left in the room when I dedicated myself to using the super where I thought that I was running into a room full of people. I'd much rather get to the end of a match having used my super on a single enemy, even though it feels empty, rather than sitting on one that I never had the opportunity to use. For me the same goes with heavy ammo and rocket launchers though. I also hate to use a rocket on a single enemy, but I do smile to myself when the opposing team wastes a super or a rocket on just me.

2 RepliesPeople need to understand that if an enemy decides to burn their super on ONLY YOU, then you should be thankful. They just spared your team[mates] of a much more devastating blow in the match. If I ever am killed 1v1 by a super, I just chalk it up to an un-winnable situation and move on.

3 RepliesThere is a difference between the calculated use of a super on one target to keep from having it go to waste... ...and Fist of Panic. Where you throw out you super because you've allowed someone to get the drop on you so badly that it's the only way for a Titan to save his ass. People get mad at FoP. I see it as a victory for my team, because I've gotten a player to waste a super that could have been used for several kills rather than just one pnaicked kill.

If someone wants to waste their super against one person against my team let them don't care, when the opportunity rises and you knew should of saved it. I have seen this count less times when the other team panics to kill one person
