Yes, in a sense keeping my race to myself was a closet. There are times when you notice you are treated very differently as soon as your race becomes apparent. Perhaps its not been that way for you. Perhaps, people have always rightly guessed your race. But I was born in Britain and I speak 'The Queen's English'. My race is often assumed white until I say otherwise or I am seen in person. You didn't read my OP properly. Nobody asks me if I'm black. Of course if I'm asked I would say that I am. People assume I am white by the sound of my voice.
