Are You A Black Guardian?
Hello #Destiny,
Does anybody else here play as a black or dark skinned guardian? Or are you black irl?
I have a black male human warlock, a black female human titan and a blueish-whitish female awoken hunter.
I'm also black in real life and I've kept that tp myself until now.
This makes things awkward for me if someone starts using racist language or making racist jokes.
Most people are not like this but now and then some young kid will start the racist jokes or someone will throw around the N-Word willy-nilly.
I'm looking to find people who are either like me or more tolerable and accepting of people like me.

1 ReplyMy hunter is a black human with red spiked hair and the skull face paint. ( inspired by Tech N9ne) and I think he's awesome looking. I've had a lot of people ask why my characters black when I'm white. Yet no one asks why I'm a robot when I'm clearly not a robot either.

No, it doesn't matter, in fact it's this ideal that "black is beautiful" that creates disparity that leads to trouble. Is black beautiful? Is white beautiful? Is hispanic beautiful? Asian? Middle Eastern? Yes. Your skin color doesn't matter, as long as you aren't a dick you shouldn't be hated. So please, stop posting wondering what someone's skin color is, and just be a good person.

2 RepliesI love making racist jokes,but i'm never serious as i make fun of everyone. I even make fun of myself. If you let racist jokes get to you,it just kind of tells me you're not proud of who you really are. I've had people call me spic,and yet i just look at them and walk away. She was supposedly modeled after Jessica Alba but I just thought she looked like a pretty good create a character for my second ME1 character. The Bioware forums used to have a thread with pics and sliders for a whole bunch of different celebrities, but that was years ago and that original thread has long past. My warlock is an exo male inspired by Garrus, again from Mass Effect. I'd also say that I would likely have created a Human male of some sort as my second or third character, but I can't get over the fact that there's no facial hair. It annoys me so much so I just won't create a human male. I accept that awoken males don't have facial hair, but I also just hate the Awoken males cause they just remind me of emo goth kids. "Go back to Hot Topic, Queen's brother! You hipster tool!" [i]*shakes fist*[/i] What still really annoys me: WE CAN"T NAME OUR CHARACTERS! WTF!

You know what the problem with this type of rubbish is? It only serves to deepen the racial schism that exists in many parts of the world. You're calling attention to yourself over something as petty as skin colour? Why? Ethnic origins plays absolutely no role in who a person is. It's the same as the gay pride parade where people act like morons and don't understand the hostility towards them.
