Are You A Black Guardian?
Hello #Destiny,
Does anybody else here play as a black or dark skinned guardian? Or are you black irl?
I have a black male human warlock, a black female human titan and a blueish-whitish female awoken hunter.
I'm also black in real life and I've kept that tp myself until now.
This makes things awkward for me if someone starts using racist language or making racist jokes.
Most people are not like this but now and then some young kid will start the racist jokes or someone will throw around the N-Word willy-nilly.
I'm looking to find people who are either like me or more tolerable and accepting of people like me.

You know what the problem with this type of rubbish is? It only serves to deepen the racial schism that exists in many parts of the world. You're calling attention to yourself over something as petty as skin colour? Why? Ethnic origins plays absolutely no role in who a person is. It's the same as the gay pride parade where people act like morons and don't understand the hostility towards them.

5 RepliesYou stated the problem yourself right in your own post. You're playing with young kids. They just aren't mature enough to know any better. That's why we started the clan that we have and the only requirement is that you be 30 and above. Don't get me wrong we do a lot of swearing, but never derogatory towards each other or racist at any point ever. Yes I know there are kids out there that were raised the correct way, but they are far and few between. Also immaturity can be a touchy subject because we ourselves are immature at times, but in the fun way not in the way that you mention. Hope you find what you're looking for fellow Guardian, & happy holidays : )

2 RepliesI'm white, dating an amazing black woman that I hope to marry and have lots of beautiful mixed babies with. :) Fam raised me to not judge others for skin color. Vanilla, chocolate, caramel, we are all just flavors of ice cream, and just like real ice cream we taste best when we cooperate and mix together. :D

You might be black but if your not a n-word then why even care if it's said? There's a difference between blacks and n-words. All n-words aren't black. There are white Asian Indian n-words ect. But as long as you know your not an n-word why care? in my experience the only ones that cares about people using that word are the ones that know they are one.

I'm not black myself, but I have a close friend who I have known for almost 20 years now who is. Nothing bothers me more than people think dropping racist comments online is funny. Half the time it's the 13 year Olds who think having a headset makes them a bad ass because they are anonymous. Or its just some ignorant piece of crap. Racism against any color or creed has no place in society.

White dude here. My main character is black female hunter. I just liked the look and always seemed to me not many roll black characters so you stand out a bit more.

1 ReplyEdited by Jurgen Blitz: 12/24/2014 10:02:27 AMI was very close to making my Titan black, because one of the faces available resembles the factions of a black person very closely (width of jaw, nose, mouth, muscular features) and it just looked like the best option. It made for a strong, confident, noble face. But in the end I decided to make the Titan look as closely to me as possible, so I went with the beige-ish brown color that´s usual in us Spaniards. If only there were options for beards or scruffs, my Titan would be a clone of me. Regarding you- man, don´t worry about it. I´ve always found racism to be a really stupid thing because in the end, someone that is always looking for ways to put others down, is someone who has a need to feel better about himself. So in the end, racists make me feel sad about them. About insults and all, don´t give a damn about it. It pretty much goes to show that the other player is a joke of a human being. Don´t waste time or energy on people like them.

1 ReplyDude, hardly anyone speaks of their skin color on here, because nobody cares if you're black or white or blue or green? If you aren't an asshole, speak the same language and know how to play, you're accepted into the community totally regardless of anything else, except maybe gender (which is outrageous in itself but another matter). What will piss others off is the fact you reckon you're a minority on here and too many gamers are racist, just because of a couple immature little kids? Hm
