Female characters are more aesthetically pleasing. Most of my characters are female, not because it relates to me, but more that it's just nicer to look at. Depending on the game, you'd see more or less of which gender plays what depending on how the character looks. I played a bit of ffxiv and both are pretty attractive so I understand when friends of mine make characters of the opposite gender. I mean if you're going to be spending hours on end looking at the backside of your character...

99% of the game is in first-person view. You only ever see your character when you're in Tower (don't even notice anymore), using a super (instantaneous for the most part, unless you're a Bladedancer or something -- but then you should be looking at what you're attacking, not yourself), riding your Sparrow (should be looking at where you're going), or in a cinematic (they rarely show your character's backside). So yeah, choosing a female character so you don't have to look at a male character's digital ass is a bullshit excuse.

I wouldn't really call it an excuse, why do you need an excuse for something that's just personal preference?
-
You know it's all subjective, right. And I wasn't specifically just talking about the backside. I also wasn't just talking about Destiny, but about games in general that allow you to choose a gender. My bf plays as a female warlock because they just look nicer their robe armor.

Just because it's personal preference or entirely subjective doesn't mean it can't be wrong or challenged. If you're playing a game like Destiny and you spend most of your time thinking about how your character looks in what, something's wrong -- something that says a lot about you as an individual.

This is true. Pretty women are very easy on the eyes. Unfortunately, there are movements in the industry to stop this from continuing. But I won't go into that. Last thing we want is for this thread to turn into another political debate. Dx
